See, the problem with having a false alarm for me is that I leave near areas where the cops will hide directly next to grocery stores, so when you think it's a false alert, bang, they've got you right there. Granted, both are using different frequencies, it just helps to know all that is out there. At least to me. Sometimes I'll get a Ka near a grocery store or houses, and there are no cops... So that's what I most worry about.

Edit: I have a V1, btw.

I sold my V1 cause I wanted to use the $ towards track events and such..but I kind of miss having a radar detector...

I think I'll pick up a passport as I had a V1 for a while and loved it

the only issue is that the 9500xi is $500 vs the $400 of V1..

I love my blinder.
I have my on/off switch integrated with my light switch (you know, how in a regular 3 series it's used to turn on the fogs, so I used it to turn the blinder on/off. My friend did it for me, pretty awesome)

Here's our 9500ci install on a 2011 Turbo S we just completed - we love it. The customer came from a V1 unit and did not like the false alarms. He actually ended up putting it in the glove box because of how annoying that unit became for him. He's now very happy with the 9500ci custom stealth laser jammer unit

Do you mean speed cameras, or have you got a problem stopping for red lights?

Check out alekshop. He's in CA but might be able to ship you a mirror.

Personally, I prefer the display closer to my line of sight ahead and not able to be seen by anybody but the driver.

Cheers.

now that i've owned one for almost six months i can report that it's the best radar detector out there.
the smart cord connects wirelessly to your iPhone. doesn't get any better than this.

When it comes down to an expensive radar vs a cheap one, they really do the same thing. In my opinion the price tag just makes you feel more secure about how well it is going to work. My buddy has a $50 radar and it works like a charm, just annoying when we pass a grocery store or electronic speed sign. If the cop is stopped with his radar on, both detectors will pick it up and if the cops radar isn't on neither will pick it up.

You have a lot to learn on detectors.
