E92 Rod Bearing replacement -Rhode Island ??
Any recommendations for a good shop in or near RI for rod bearings? Want someone that is quality but don’t want to be ripped off.
Appreciate the input! |

Maybe you could hire Danny to help. He has probably done 10 sets and authored the rod bearing DIY. He helped one member at a rent a lift place in RI.

In RI you have the garage mentioned in the rod bearing DIY. I'd do it there.

It’s about an 8 hour job. Probably there are some pros who have done it many times who can do it in 6 and there are first time DIYers who are taking 10. If the shop is using “book time” for the job, you will be charged for even more hours of labor. I would keep looking around. Did you ask Shadow if he would help or do you have no interest in helping yourself (which is OK — most owners are not DIYers).

Hopefully the shop will do as good a job as Shadow so you won’t have to sue it and try to get it to file an insurance claim

That's a solid deal. What's the name of the shop?

I think I'm going to wait until 75k, I'm at 49k now. The original owner was very gentle with the car. I took my car to a shop last week to change out the original plugs and they said mine still look new!
I think when I do them I will probably take a trip out to Auto couture in NJ. They have literally done hundreds of them on e9X's and their price is reasonable.
