Rod Bearing Service In Atlanta
Has anyone had their rob bearings serviced in Atlanta?
I've gotten a quote from Technica Motorsports and inquired at Markert Motorsports, but haven't heard back yet. Technica's quote seems to be in line with what I think other shops are charging, from reading these forums. |

My last quote was 3k with VAC bearings from Markert a few months ago.

I was quoted $24xx from Technica for VAC and ARP rod bolts.

That seem's about average. I've only heard good things about both shops.
Any particular reason you are doing yours besides preventative maintenance? Random, but I think we met once at AMP lol

I was starting to look into the rod bearings, since my extended warranty ends next month. Trying to gauge how much I should set aside and where to get it done when the time comes. Other than that, mainly as a precaution. I have 48k miles on my 2011.

As a side note, I really like Markert's warranty. 5 years / 60k miles on all work. |

I’d be very interested in hearing someone that went to either Markert or Technica. I’m considering doing it soon with VAC increased clearance bearings / calico and ARP rod bolts but only want someone that’s very skilled in this. I have a low mileage M3 and don’t want someone to practice on my car. I want someone that takes their time and does the job right. Would love to hear from someone on M3 post that isn’t biased (I don’t trust reviews on a shops site). Willing to drive further than Atlanta if needed.

I received a quote from Markert for rod bearings but they were using BE bearings with my quote. Anyone have any experience with BE? Price was around $2700.
I plan to get this done in the next couple months also. |

Let us know how the pricing ends up and the experience is when you do. When I do it, I’m probably going VAC/Clevite/Calico and ARP.

I think I'll be going with Technica as well. They've been easy to work with and won't charge extra for providing your own parts or even replacing the motor mounts at the same time.

I'm getting mine done at Bimmers Service, but I'm not paying anything, just for the parts. I got the hook up. I will be helping to do them too though. I'm using VAC and ARP bolts.
