2011 Frozen Grey e90

Finally found an e90 that checked off all the boxes…… it felt like decades but finally got back into an e90 M3.

First let me go start off by saying my first M3 was an 2008 Silverstone 6 speed slicktop e90 M3 with 60ish k miles that I got from a trade for my 2011 STI. I absolutely fell in love with it but was broke as a joke, going thru school and my wife had just given birth to my first born. I had to do the grown up thing and trade it in for a SUV…… went to Toyota and traded it in for 21k back in 2017.

After graduating and working, was finally at a point in my life where I was able to get a toy again. So the search began……. Craigslist, Forums, Marketplace…. anywhere and everywhere in my spare time I would just search.

Fast forward to 10/2023 I was fed up with how crazy the M3 market was over basic clapped up M3’s…. So just gave up my search and ended up getting a 99 Estoril Blue e36 Vert M3 which I also fell for…. Rowing gears was fun, cheap to maintain and fix…, huge aftermarket support and EVERYONE just loved it…. Prob one of the cars I’ve gotten the most compliments in….. young and older both could appreciate it….. but it just didn’t satisfy what I wanted…… so I sold it….

Being that my 99 e36 was a vert I considered getting an e93 because now I’m a Vert guy obviously…. But just couldn’t pull the trigger on the ones I found for sale….. and just when I finally found an e93 I was going to SETTLE for I found a listing for an 2011 e90 M3 in Jersey for sale with decent mileage and clean title and carfax….. I shot my shot… “ Hey blah blah blah…. Blah blah blah…..” 3 days later I drove it home…..

Finally I introduce my 2011 BMW M3 Sedan Frozen Grey 6 Speed Manual……

Alright rant over, I would say I’m going do XYZ but honestly I’m broke…. Need to go back to work and then I’ll start modding!!!

Cheers Fellas!!

Yep I was honestly surprised it wasn't selling on C&B and then saw it on Facebook and seemed like not too bad of a deal for an insanely rare car! Can't wait to see your progress! Hope you enjoy the car!

Nice pickup! Frozen Grey looks great and think you did well skipping on my SGM E90 when we were talking although I bet you paid more for this! Cute helper you got there too, start him young!

Are the 219Ms Ferric Grey or Silver? Would be interested in the wheels if the former when you decide to get new ones.

Thank you brother!!! It’s been a long time coming….

Yeah but your red interior is nicer tho!

Thank you little man def gotta learn!

I believe my wheels are silver which I like the contrast…. I’ll prob keep them because they came with the car but looking for 359m or maybe just bite the bullet for some nice forge wheels…. But def spent more then I wanted so modding will take its time but that’s fine by me.

Finally began modding!!

First order of business…. The sound of the car! When I purchased it, it was supposedly a modded OEM exhaust with test pipes that’s it… but it was quiet! Basically stock if not quieter than stock but the oem muffler was def hacked up…

I bought brand new in box Eisenmann Race Exhaust from a fellow forum member nearby who got the wrong model shipped to him from bimmerworld. So basically we both thought it was for e90 but the exhaust was actually for e92… didn’t figure that out until the exhaust was on the car and scratching my head as to why the exhaust sticks so far out? Currently might sell it but love the sound and believe I can just get a rear diffuser from POM and it should be fine? We’ll see.

As you all know these things are expensive so prob going take care of few maintenance things first before I get anymore mods…..

Cheers everyone!

Ehhh not too bad to be honest and actually just picked up a CF rear diffuser so pics will be coming

During my exhaust install I saw my diff saturated…… yup you guessed it the pinion seal…

So finally bit the bullet and brought the car into Rogue Engineering in NJ. Couldn’t be happier /w Ben and his team.

While the car was there ended up taking care of all the fluids… brake fluid, transmission fluid, diff fluid, power steering fluid, and other misc things.

Only 3 E90 M3s were made for North America in Frozen Grey (14, worldwide): -

1 x USA
2 x Canada

Yours (VIN ending 739) is the only one of the three to come with a Manual transmission.

Thank you!!! Yeah I was informed from another forum member!! Crazy to think it’s 1/1 manual and color wise. But truly a special e90!!

Thank you again for the info!

I never really considered the E90 a big car but sitting next the the S2k it looks massive! Dude, you have great taste in cars! Friend of mine got an AP1 when they first came out...so much good about them. Like the the E90 M3!
