71,000 Miles WHAT: -New OEM Brake Rotors -Oil Change -Swap PFC01 Track Pads Back to Akebono Ceramic Street Pads -Remove Rust & Paint Center Hubs Black Been sitting on these OEM rotors for quite some time as I thought they would need to be replaced earlier than they really did. Deceided to toast them at the track this past weekend prior to replacing so that I could get my money's worth! ![]() Before: ![]() After: ![]() Also, needed a post track oil change. Was told by Malek that it's recommended to change the oil every 5,000 miles as opposed to the usual 7,500 after I had my rod bearings done. Also, I add the recommended quantity of LiquiMoly MOS2 at every oil change as well ![]() ![]() Tires Wore Surprisingly Evenly: ![]() Post Track Bath: ![]() Oh, also forgot to add a while back, about 10k miles ago, replaced my cabin air filters as well as my engine intake filter. Went from OEM to BMC and found a ton of sand/dirt in my stock filter. Glad it did its job! ![]() . ![]() . ![]() Plan to tackle a proper engine bay detail prior to my next car wash. Something I have never done on any of my cars before! ![]()

How many MOS2 bottle do you use on each oil change 1 or two?

Can't take my eyes from your diffuser, looks so good in a still perfectly subtle way. Maybe I just have to ask Santa for a favour... ![]() Thought I asked but can't seem to find the answer mate, did you have to drill a lot of extra wholes for the diffuser, any issues to make it fit nicely? Thanks Edit: Just found your separate thread on the diffuser, first thing you go blind on is the eyes hey… Thanks! |

February 1, 2019 WHAT: Bomiz First Edition Valvetronic Exhaust Specs: Full Polished System (Cans Painted Black by Me) Machined Tips So it's been about a week now since I have installed the newly released Bomiz Valvetronic Exhaust for the E9X M3. As most of you know, a group buy was held several months ago for the first production run of this cat back system. I have had MANY exhaust setups as covered in my Corsa Exhaust thread: https://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1497107 and honestly I had zero intention of moving away from my Corsa + Test Pipe combo, unless it was to just add a HFC X-Pipe. When the initial interest thread was posted by Bomiz, I was intrigued. Would they be able to provide a quality, low-cost, valvetronic option for this platform? Something that hadn't really been done before... I hoped so, but also was very happy with my current setup. But when the time came and this idea became a reality, I decided why not bite the bullet, install it, and worst case scenario I can just sell it if I don't like it and continue with my Corsa setup. Nonetheless, I picked up my system from Bomiz's partner shop Precision Dynamics in Costa Mesa, CA. Local to me which made things very easy. I opted for the polished mufflers (cheapest option), and the machined tips for my system. I anticipated that I would want to paint the actual cans black for a stealthy setup anyways, so figured that was the best route. On to some pictures: ![]() This thing was wrapped very well, plastic wrapped, AND bubble wrapped on top of that. Took me like 15 minutes to unwrap every piece. ![]() All unwrapped! I actually put the Bomiz sticker on the box since I felt it looked better ![]() ![]() "Mock-Up" ![]() Inside the little black box was the valve control module, all necessary wiring, and two wireless remotes. ![]() ![]() Painted the Cans Black as mentioned. Turned out great and I have had great experiences with the Rustoleum High Temp "BBQ" Paint. Opted for the Semi-Gloss this time as opposed to the flat black that I used on my Corsa. Looks MUCH better! In regards to installation, it was fairly simple and straightforward. Initially I had tapped the incorrect power wire and wasn't getting enough voltage, but I figured that out once Bomiz sent over the install instructions. I ran the wire from the battery, under the trunk floor cover, and drilled a small hole thru the front side of the plastic trunk floor (under the foam for the air pump). I then installed a small grommet to keep out any potential debris/water as well as keep the wires from rubbing the edges. View from under the car of the hole: ![]() Toughest part for those not mechanically (or electronically) inclined would probably be removing the "cigarette adapter" power outlet and splicing the power and ground with the supplied wiretaps: ![]() . ![]() . ![]() And here's the "Installed" Photos: ![]() . ![]() . ![]() Now on to my first impressions: So my expectations were for an exhaust that sounded just like my Corsa setup, maybe slightly louder when opened, but with the ability to be silenced on command. The Bomiz system DEFINITELY met the demand of being silenced on command.. Even with Test Pipes, the car sounds like stock, which is crazy to me. Very nice, especially given how strict California is becoming with aftermarket exhausts and modded cars in general. Love this aspect of the exhaust! In regards to the sound while open, it is much louder than anticipated! lol. Which is a blessing and a curse I suppose. I did want my Corsa to be slightly louder, however the overall tone of the Bomiz system is much deeper and boomy. I find myself not opening the system often (only for a nice freeway on ramp pull, and for impressing my friends!) as I don't want to be "that guy" with the annoying loud car driving around on the street, while with my Corsa, the car felt crisp and refined. *I know I know, this thread is useless without sound clips* I will get a good video soon, I am just slammed at work for the next couple weeks and don't have much time. But I promise I will have a legit video soon enough. Overall, I am happy with the exhaust, the ability to go from silent to screaming with the push of a button is amazing in Commiefornia. The ONLY gripe I have with the exhaust is that it's not as high pitched as I would have liked it to be, but sound is always subjective, and I really think that the majority of people will love the deep, rumbly, loud V8 sound that the system releases when opened! Also, aesthetically, the Bomiz looks incredible when compared to the Corsa, which REQUIRES aftermarket tips and the mufflers be painted black to look at all good. So i'm going back and forth as to which I want to keep.. Going to give it some time to really get used to the Bomiz before making a decision! I will update this thread as soon as I have the video completed! ![]()

Extremely adjustable. I like it on the shorter side and it wasn't a problem at all.

I'm in the market for the corsa as well. Would you be able to confirm if 80mm tips could fit the corsa Y pipe without custom fabrication of an entirely new Y pipe? Love the car!

And do you mind telling us the cost to install your previous custom tips on the corsa?

Love this thread as I have a SG E90 and your tasteful mods are perfect goals to add to the list. I'm debating whether to go Corsa or Borla Atak... I feel like I'd love the tone of the Corsa, but on the flip side the "I want just a little more sound" feeling of the atak is appealing. I plan on doing exhaust and keeping stock x pipe, for now.. feel like the Corsa is better with an aftermarket x pipe, but an Atak is too loud with TP or with an aftermarket X pipe. (I've never hear either in person but I have the 2 pipe mod currently)

Great thread! Keep modding!!
For me, I just want a exhaust that will sound good all the time and not have crazy drone, that's why I went with the ACM mod, and I have no regrets! I just don't want to always be playing with the valves because i'm lazy lol
