Hey Nairb 1, have you thought of having it DNA tested and then going back to the shop to find a few hair samples to match it up with? Admit it, for one split second you actually thought about having it checked for DNA.
I watched my then mechanic years ago use his fender pad to lay down on and look under my car. Then I watched him pick it up and throw it onto my fender. I said I don't think so. So I immediately and carefully removed it from my car. No scratches but I had to carefully blow off the gravel that was now on my fiberglassed fender. The last straw was when they started taking a baby sledge to my crank pulley. Haven't been to that mechanic since.

I did think that.

Probably someone from the Vette forum.

The E9X M3 hate is just as strong in Poland, maybe worse:

Deservingly so. Driver should be banned from sitting behind the wheel of an M3. Nothing cool about putting others lives in danger.

I think the world is going soft with too many people driving shitbox Prius's and Leafs. Seems anytime I overtake a driver in one of the aforementioned poop vehicles I am more than likely going to be called an asshole, tough guy, or my favorite old school remark just the other day, a dip shit.
Anyone else feel the hate when driving your M?
You're in Cali. It isn't that way everywhere. In fact, in most places it isn't like you describe at all. That crew you're surrounded by is, IMHO, far too high strung, self-absorbed. There's not enough money in the world to get me to live in Cali. Seriously.

Just ignore that lot the best you can. GL

I don't think I have caught a single insult yelled at me in the M3. Mostly I get thumbs up, or occasionally some guy will put his hand to his ear bc he wants to hear the ITBs...

I've had more hate on this forum than I have had in real life. I also drive super respectfully, so there's that.

Also, I think the lot of you are coming around to the air suspension thing...

But, yeah OP. Maybe it's just you.

Do you mean when some m3 owners replace the OEM suspension with air bagged suspensions? If so, I agree.

IMO, the e9x generation m3 is now entering the Honda Civic phase of its life cycle.

I've had the M3 for 6 years in the SF area. When it was newer, people used to look and there'd be an occasional "nice car" comment or sometimes someone won't let the entitled asshole in the M3 merge into traffic...

I think the worst thing was, on a 2 lane mountain road, a younger couple in a old pick up truck stopped on the road so they could block me and then proceed to give me the finger and laugh at me. It was the strangest experience and I couldn't understand why they'd do that. I didn't cut them off and I was following them at a safe distance.

I've found you need to drive more conservatively in the M3, people will be more willing to judge the guy in the luxury car. I drive my daily VW more spiritedly and people barely blink an eye. When I do the same in the M3, people will look and judge you.

Nothing wrong with a clean Civic...if that's you trying to be insulting in some way, it just makes you look douchey

I also bought mine well before that and started tearing into it immediately. Life is way too short to drive boring cars.

What I meant is the m3 is now getting into the hands of younger owners that typically like to mod out their cars like Civic owners.

I understood what you meant, and agree with you. Prices on E9x M's have definitely dropped which opens the doors for younger buyers who tend to have their own modding preferences, but fortunately prices still are still high enough, IMO, to keep out most of the riff raff. In most cases anyway, not all.

Civics are actually pretty easy targets. Even the new ones in stock form look like space ships. Still super reliable cars, might buy one for my daughter in a few years when she gets her license. Don't really like them for a lot of reasons, but want something that won't leave her stranded...and the Civic surely won't leave you stranded.

Just because the cars are coming down in value a bit doesn't mean just anybody can afford one of these cars. Mine is the most expensive car I have owned and I have had many cars. It was a bit more than I originally intended on spending too but I found the right car. The way some of these posts read to me is that you guys think these cars are getting so cheap. 30k+ is not cheap at all. I make almost 100k a year which I feel is a good income but with all my other bills as well 30k+ for a car with no warranty is a tall price tag. To compare it to a beater or an average DD isn't a good comparison. Also I have gotten a bunch of compliments in the 2 months I have had mine. I noticed if you keep your car very clean you are more likely to get compliments. After I clean my car and my zcp wheels I often get looks and waves.

Good point.

Young kids can get financing to buy this car now...doesn't mean they can actually afford it.

I'm not a fan of the design of NEW Civics...I'm talking about the older true-hatchbacks.

I'll always have a soft spot for EK hatches in Champion White

To hell with the BMW haters. They can kiss my m3 lovin' ass. I use the same rules when driving both my cars. If people signal and drive politely, I will let them into the lane or whatever need be done. If they try to cut me off with no signal, I don't let them into the lane and will block them if necessary. Just kind of depends on my mood. Giving me the finger gets you one back, and then I will STORM around their old ass pickup truck and leave them behind if the lanes allow. Perhaps let them catch up a bit and then smoke them? Many things are possible, and YOU nor any other BMW driver needs to take that unless you just want to. I guess this ideology comes after alot of LA and San Fran driving.

Bottom line is, I drive how I want to drive within the law, if other drivers don't like it, they can deal with it or not. I really, really don't care what other drivers think because I drive politely and do not cut people off on purpose or anything like that. I am a equal parts defensive and aggressive driver, pretty much whatever the situation calls for. I didn't buy my m3 to drive it like other people want me to drive it. I bought it for me to appreciate, not them. Once again, to hell with the haters. Just my 2 cents.
