Question Rattle off your thoughts about this rattle!

Hi all,

Was hoping to see if the hive mind could help diagnose this rattle before I start going a part at a time. It can be heard most clearly from the midpoint to the end of the attached vid.

Rattle only occurs once the car is fully warm, which is leading me to exhaust (or headers?). Seems to occur above 3k RPM with lighter throttle, mostly in 3rd and 4th gears. I’ve been looking through the forums for others with similar issues and there doesn’t seem to be a full consensus. Most of the folks who described something similar in the past seem to have deleted their videos, so I’m not finding much to compare to.

Relevant mods include a complete Akrapovic Evo exhaust (mid pipe and back box), full Eventuri carbon intake set up front with their filter, and an AutoSolutions short throw shifter. The trans brace for the exhaust is currently removed and not attached to the Akra mid pipe. I’ve gone through and looked at every other bolt and clamp and they’re all good. The header to exhaust gaskets were replaced when the Akra was installed. I’m considering re-installing my original mid pipe as a first step, but fashioning a couple of clamps to reuse the trans brace is also an option (mine didn’t come with the proper hardware). I’ve also seen some posts about carbon intakes and fabric filters letting weird sounds back through, so…?

Thanks for any insight! Oh, and please don’t even bring that rod bearing stuff in here. It’s not rod bearings. :-p

Check all your exhaust heat shields and underbody panels for loose or missing clips/screws.

Did that as well while chasing down a rattle from the rear. Everything that I can reach from beneath is good. Any stories of heat shields near the headers coming loose? Not sure how I'd get my hands in there.
