This is not a dig. Assuming street ride quality is your primary goal, you would have been much better off buying an OTS MCS 2WR or another high-end setup. It’s always best to buy once, cry once. Cost of MCS 1WNR + custom valved R&Ts > cost of Intrax 1K2 (which can be spec’d with stock spring rates) and Nitron R1 OGSM (OG Shark Motorsports) spec setups or getting close to the cost of a MCS 2WR and Nitron R3 OGSM spec setups. |

![]() I explored all those options, and thought I'd be happy with the Eibach Pro Kit ride height, but I'm not. Actually on OE wheels car looks great, but for aftermarket I personally wish car sat lower. I spoke with 3DM and PSI, didn't know they had a 'spec'. Maybe for those who are wanting to go in the opposite direction, with a stiffer setup for track use. For comfort they both suggested leaving them as is, which I might do. Ohlins only offers softer springs for the rear than what's supplied in the kit - 110N/mm (628lb) & 80N/mm (456lb). I've strongly considered the ST XTA+3 too. 2 Ways or even 3 Ways seem to be the game changer when it comes to dialing in ride quality. |

Turner and 3DM offer road kits with even softer rates for the street. Not all 2-way and 3-way dampers have harshless ride quality. KW isn’t one of them. Not even their 3-way Competition (one step below racing) and Racing lines have a compliant harshless ride quality. Same applies to the Nitron OTS R3 3-ways which is why OGSM invested the time and money to custom valve and select custom springs for the OTS R1 and R3 setups Last edited by M3SQRD; 01-29-2025 at 11:59 AM.. |

If you want a suspension setup that will give you the performance and comfort you’re looking for as well as setting lower ride heights then I’d recommend either the Nitron R1 OGSM spec with their softest street spring rates or the Intrax 1K2 with stock spring rates and ARC (anti-roll control) and Black Titan options. I believe this is a much better approach than attempting to achieve your goals with custom valve & springs or custom springs only on R&Ts because I’m concerned you are not going to reach all of your goals, specifically the harshless and compliant street ride quality. I know the options I’ve listed above will reach, and probably exceed, your goals. It’ll be the last suspension setup you’ll purchase for your e9x M. What does PSI and 3DM currently charge to rebuild/revalve four dampers? |

Any particular reason why you recommend the Nitron or Intrax? Do you have experience with them? Was looking at the 1K2 because of the ARC tech but the setup gets pretty pricey, and I'm not sure it will actually assist in comfort. Last time I spoke with them they said apart from reducing unwanted body roll from running softer springs, which the ARC allows, it doesn't actually help with comfort. |

Send a PM to forum member noemon if you want to hear from someone who was looking for a setup with the best street ride comfort on his f82. He has the 1k2 with ARC and Black Titan (he also has the TracTive touring f8x EDC plug-n-play semi-active dampers which also use stock spring rates; says the 1k2 is just as compliant as the TracTive Touring EDC setup). I recommended the 1k2 because based on the pricing sheet I have I think the 1k2 with the two options is around $5500 (?) but I could be wrong. Their HSCBO valve and HSC damping combined with the ARC/soft spring rates (match stock rates) produces a setup that’s extremely friendly on the street. I didn’t recommend MCS 2W or 3W remote setups, Moton 2-way remote setup, Ohlins TTX, Nitron R3 OGSM spec and JRZ 2- or 3-way remote Reds (Reds = pro motorsport dampers, Blues = non-pro TT/HPDE/street dampers) because now you’re into the > $8000 price range. Personally, I’d stay away from KW V3 2- or 3-way CS, V4 3-way CS, V3 2-way Racing, V4 3-way Racing, 3A 3-way Competition and V4 4-wayRacing setups. They are all too harsh for the street. |
