New GT-R 'Ring video

Hope it's not a repost. I don't care either way, but thought it was interesting

Yeah, it's a repost. If I remember the thread correctly, there was some discussion about the time because clearly the "stop timer" point was no near the "start timer" point (a good couple of hundred yards apart.) I don't know if those are the "official" timing points, but it strikes me as funny that you'd stop the timer before actually completely the lap....

Someone please bomb the bloody ring... this thing is getting more obnoxious and preposterous by the day

There is nothing wrong with the ring. It's people using it for their own marketing purposes and dips on forums arguing with each other about it that's the problem.

I read some people time it from the end of the pit to the start. Don't know why, it's not a 'full' lap

It really is a shame, such a nice track reduced to a marketing tool.

Why don't people start using Watkins Glen, Laguna Seca, Interlagos, Suzuka, or some other famous track for this, where there won't be so much controversy, and where it will be easy to replicate laps to verify authenticity?

The sheet length of the Green Hell tends to multiply every small difference of performance in each car. A 10 second difference in Nurburgring is probably equate to a 1 second difference on standard FIA track.

I don't care about any of that. It was a bloody impressive lap; car and driver....

Jesus christ, that's how Sport Auto and most everyone times laps on the ring.
