Tire size problem for 1M Coupe
Hey guys,
i´m posting here since there seems to be a lot more activity on the M3 section than the 1M section. I am currently running 9.5Jx19 front with 245/35 and 11x19 rear with 265/35, but performance wise it´s plain stupid to run this much stretch. Therefore i want to mix things up for next summer season and go for mainly wider tyres. First up, things are a bit tighter on the front on the 1M than on the M3 (therefore wider tyres with 35 diamater are not possible), so i came to the following conclusion: Option 1: 265/30 on the 9.5J front 285/30 on the 11J rear Option 2: 275/30 on the 9.5J front 295/30 on the 11J rear Option 2 would be closer to stock diameter, but i would have to go for a tyre that is known to build normal / narrow, not extremely wide. Suspension wise i am running an KW V3 with camber plates, -3°05` at the moment. Rear is at -2°15` I am not tracking my car, but very spirited street driving Any recommendations on either one of the options or even regarding specific tires? Any help would be highly appreciated Thanks a lot |

What about GTS sizing? 255/35-19 and 285/30-19? A shorter diameter tire on the back of the 1M is a big help the stock gearing is very long. Less stretch but still very well supported on those wheels

thanks a lot for your input. Unfortunately I am pretty sure I could run into problems with the larger diameter of the 255/35/19. That's why I aimed for 30 diameter tires initially 🤔 You are absolutely right regarding the long gearing! |

You're probably right you'd rub a bit but if you're talking about 275/30 I figured you'd be ok with that up front, those will also likely rub a bit

If I was to go with 275/30 up front I would need a tyre that is know to build not very tall and/or wide. Same applies to the 255/35 then
