Finally figured it out.. pinching the bottom with more force than the top and pulling towards yourself and also towards the back of the car at the same time was key. thanks for everyone's input.

Does anyone have any Sedan specific advice? The black plastic grill on the sedan is bigger than on the coupe.

the driver side marker was a bitch for me to get out and i actually ended up breaking one of the clips that holds the black grill piece in place. oh well. the passenger side popped right out with no effort at all though. i am extremely pleased with how the matte black markers look. i am also very pleased with the quality of the product and the fitment is perfect.

The Sidevents are quite a handful ! It took me about 45 mins to do both, and ended up breaking a piece of the Chrome Plastic OEM sidevent ! GL, the matte black sidevents are definitely sick though and worth the hassle

I thought it was pretty easy thanks to the advice on the forum. Took me about 5-10 minutes to do both. I drilled to Swamp's 5/32" as I also got my markers from JLeviSW. I still had a touch of cracking on one side, likely due to not drilling far enough as I didn't want to drill through. It is quite secure, though.

I'm very happy with the results. Chrome is the enemy.

Bumping this back up to see if anyone had any luck installing on an E90 (sedan), tried to install following the instructions on the site but no luck so far. The side grilles do appear different on the E90 vs E92 so not sure if the same method will work. Any E90 owners have tips? Gonna try again tomorrow but figured it was worth a shot.

I used a chrome very smooth thin tool to pop the tabs out underneath and on the front side, trying to force it got me no where...this technique didn't damage the part or scratch the paint, but they really are a bitch to get out nonetheless. Trying to squeeze the top and bottom together got me pulling my hair out but didn't get the side grill out. The front grills are so easy in comparison...these took ten minutes max. They both look great w/AW plus my blk monobloks !!! GL

im trying to post pics but when i click on the attachment key and try to upload it doesnt work. hopefully those with sedans know what im talking about

I just installed the matte black side vents on my e90 M3. I used a small putty knife, inserted by the tail end by the door, on the top side, in the small slit between the honeycomb and chrome piece. The blade of putty knife slide right in. With some slight downward pressure, the two clips on this end of the chrome piece popped out. You can then use your hands to wiggle out the rest of the clips. I was able to get just the chrome piece out of the car, while leaving the honeycomb in. Just a quick note, once I unclipped the wiring harness for the turn signal lamp, I used a piece of blue painters tape to tape the wire to the car, because it kept wanting to slide back inside.

JBRUCE, just paint them while they are on the car, some painters tape and a good can of spray paint.

I just tried prying mine loose for half an hour in vain. I hear one tab clicking in and out on the driver side, but it won't come out. The passenger side vent won't budge at all. Is there anyone in Socal that would take pity on a fellow M3 owner and remove mine for me?

I followed the instructions in the video and it worked great. Took me about 30 seconds to wiggle them off.

The big problem was that on one of the sides, the little black piece that is connected to the outer black grill part (towards the front of the grill) fell inside the fender!! It fell a little ways and when I went to grab it, it fell farther in. I was able to gently tap the fender to get it to fall into sight, then used a stick with duct tape to get it out. Thank god I didnt have to take off the fender liner, that would have sucked.

I also used my own screws. The oem ones went in about halfway then started getting hard to turn. I know they would have broken if I kept going. I stopped before getting the "white plasticy" stressed parts.

Anyway, big decision now is.. Grey or normal emblems..
