I've seen threads for common maintenance but nothing about a lot more common issues for preventative.. can someone point me to a list or start one for a sticky?

My car is hitting 80k
I have followed the general oil, spark plugs etc but I keep finding more stuff to do or learned along way which is fine but be good prepare ahead time ... or least know what to check for. For example throttle bodies is known to do and rod bearings but isn't listed in typical maintenance unless we are in the forms.

I wanted see if we could compile or mention anything else people done outside what's typically listed schedule . Things like when check or change: alternator, changing any belts, oil pan, cowbell sound fix, any of the suspension components like bushings, controls arms, fuel breather valve, brake sensor etc

I'm looking keep the car long possible but just don't want drive and have it die or run bigger problems cause I didn't check or change something ahead of time

I get there going be one offs happy hear those but looking for more other common issues our e92 m3 run into that isn't listed ...

some pictures away helps start a thread 😬

You can add motor mounts, power steering flush, transmission filter (DCT) and fluid replacement, brake fluid flush. At that mileage I'd consider doing the rod bearings as well. As for the TA, just replace those when they fail. Your car will go into limp mode when it does but won't leave you stranded. Another thing to check is your battery. If it's original it might need to be changed soon.

Yeah I will be doing all this soon.

But wanted try compile list outside the regular maintenance

From research. Seems most do engine mounts which is good call out during rod bearing causes it during or easy while doing rod bearings. So I guess be good to know call out

Feel free comment or add on. This based some things I Have found maybe useful for others. I get all subjective timing wise etc but least you have an idea what keep an eye out on or change early for a project 😬I get range seems like a large gap but this based off what I found ... and I think be aware of and start check/track

***Engine mounts usually last from my research from 30-60k depending on driving roads other factors...

*** brake fluid sensor seems run into issues or go out often around 40-70k

*** 60-100k+ miles replacing thermostat and water pump

*** breather valve 50-70k.

For reference I just picked up my car with 76k miles. The rod bearings, spark plugs and thermostat were recently done. I just placed an order from fcp euro for rear brake pads, fluids all around, motor mounts, fuel breather valve and another big item I forgot to mention was the the valve cover gaskets. You'll need new bolts at $10 each, spark plug tubes so it adds up quickly but you'll have a solid car for at least another 50k miles.
