Radar detector app for smartphones

A friend told me there is an app that acts as a radar detector on your phone. Anyone know anything about this?

There is an app but it gets used in conjunction with an existing Valentine 1. I think Escort does one as well. In either case, you still need to have the full radar detector to be able to use the app.

Ring ... Ring ... Ring ... who's there? "Sheriff here Pull Over and spread them wide be schnell about it"

OP ... all funny stuff aside ... you have a nice car and love to drive it right? My recommendation if you need a good detector get a Valentine

We are actually prohibited from saying spread em any more. Too many unfortunate display of sphincter incidents. Now, we just tap their feet with our feet.

I use the free app "trapster" with valentine 1 on long rides. Works well like a real time "wiki" approach to alerting people to speed traps.

Escort had a new thing called Live which works with the Iphone it seems like a good idea but you have to mount the phone and the detector and it seems like too much crap being mounted imo.

Cool, hadn't heard about this. Any others work with V-1?

Radar Active app was designed to integrate with the V1 but I'm not sure where development has ended up; I think it has gone stagnant.

Trapster doesn't actually work directly with the V1, does it? I think you mean you're using them both at once, right?

It would be cool to augment an app with a remote-display interface to get data from the V1 and combine it with location and heading...
... for example http://www.v1blueshark.20m.com/index.html, although it's hard to tell from their web site what it can actually do.

Correct. I use them both but V1 doesn't actually interface with it.
