Weird Ticking noise on 2011 E92 M3

I may be too paranoid due to all these posts about rod bearing failures. But earlier today, as I was installing an aftermarket air filter, I heard some noise that might be similar to the infamous ticking noise that is a sign of rod bearing issues. Other than your leaking oil fill cap, I would say all seems normal. Sounds like typical fuel injectors.

Best place to get audio for suspected bearing issue is from the driver side wheel well while slowly raising RPM to about 3k.

Sounds like fuel injectors in my ears mate. Should you hear the bearings before the blow they will generate an uggly knock.

Nothing like a rod-bearing noise. Injectors just make noise like that.
