Thanks for the very nice write up and nice pics to go with it. May I ask how much time did you wait between each task as I am not very experienced with working with fiberglass and bondo etc.. Also do you recommend any best temperature to work in for best drying, fastest drying etc? Thanks

Fiberglass hardens faster when you put in more catalyst, but you don't want to put in too much it gets hot! I'd say about an hour between coats of fiberglass should be enough if it's warm outside. It may still be a little tacky but that's ok. The Bondo is about the same. My advice is to use patience and try some tests first. Working with fiberglass is messy and permanent so take it slow. Wear gloves, a long sleeve shirt, and shoes. Cover anything you don't want ruined. |

I bought an enclosure similar to this from another forum member
After I mounted my sub, and tested it It had some air leaks, which affect the sound Went to home depot Bought 2 cans of plasti dip, the liquid kind, not spray Poured it into the enclosure, from the subwoofer hole And used an old kitchen sponge to make sure I coated the entire insides of the box, including the back of the terminal cup Let it dry for the whole day to get rid of the smell After it dried I tested it Super air tight It basically forms a rubber layer on the inside of the box, sealing all leaks Total cost $12

I have 2 OZ subs that I was thinking of installing. I think they are 10". I was thinking on mounting them under the rear deck. |

Hell yes! Nice job!
It's funny that you say never again... this is the third time that I've said that. Then a few years later a get a new car and I get excited to do it again. It's a lot of work but it is a very rewarding project. I hope you enjoy it! |
