I apologize that I never washed it for 4 years and 3 months….but its TOTALLY cool now…...uh here are some nose plugs to go with your ear plugs!!!!!!"

Few sets, huh? You running a tire shop or something?

With NT01, you don't have any other choice of size for our car. If you graduate to TD's or Hoosier R7, they have a 285/30/18 option which quite nice if you don't want to push all the size limits. Both tires also have a 295/30/18 option too if you want maximum grip.

The R1S is a 285/30/18, but it's wider than the 295/30/18 TD. Prepare to kiss your fender liners goodbye if you try the 285 R1S. Like I said, mine are getting trashed. The R1S comes in a 275/35/18……not sure that would be any better since they run large……

I rationalized like an addict and "needed" these when they were on sale. I'm not spending money now, I'm saving money in the future. Hehe I'll have to try the TD, maybe I'll throw it in the mix. Maybe when I get off tire probation from the girlfriend.

At least it's well organized, lol. I have my exhaust wrapped up in bags just leaning on the wall in my garage, haha.

hehe----if you try the TD, there will be a fire sale of NT01 in your garage as soon as you get home!

My advice, leave those new NT01's as new, so that when you sell them you can get max $$$ for them!

Maybe 2 events if you constantly drift them. You should get 3 very good days and a 4th so so day.

Sounds reasonable. 4th so so day still better than nt01 or just sloppy?

When you get suspension. Most guys are running +22 offset in 10.5?

You can definitely get more than 2 events from TD's. I can run them 5 days (they are NOT fast on day 5). But several factors affect the situation.

-Running square is great because it gives you the option to rotate around the car in a way that lengthens the life of the tires beyond what you can do if you're staggered. I find that, in general, at the tracks I visit in SoCal, the front driver tire is the most abused on my car and the rear passenger seems to be the least used. So, first I like to rotate in an "X" across the car. Front driver and rear passenger. Front passenger to rear driver. Then after that, I may swap the two fronts with each other and the rears with each other.

-Rotate half way through the day. Doing a whole day with the tires locked in one position is tough on them.

-Run tons of front camber. It saves your edges in the front----big time. I blindly run max camber in the front. I just jam the camber plates as far over as the strut top holes will allow.

-Sometimes, I'll take the tires to the tire shop and have them flip the rubber on the rims so that all the fresher inside edges are now on outside. That really gets quite a bit more life out of the tires.

-Specifically regarding TD's-----TD"s do not like full-on hot lap after hot lap after hot lap. They get SHREDDED if you do that. My friend with a 996 GT3 shredded a set of new rear TD's in one session because he pounded on them lap after lap at Big Willow without a break for 30 minutes. He got a GREAT lap time---1:29.0. But at a track that emphasizes the left side of the car so much at high speeds with Turns 2, 8 & 9, they got destroyed. They were chunking. He was thrilled to drop into the '20s. But not so thrilled that it cost him a set of tires. TD's function better with one hot, one rest, one hot, one rest. For our cars that are prone to overheating, this helps the engine too.

Yea I rotate the same way but too lazy to do at track. Might have to though for TD. Regarding laps I usually quit if solo says you screwed up lol

If by quit you mean "time to drift"

I helped out roastbeef by showing her what I do to get the tire marbles out of the wheel before driving home - I suspect that was +50 brownie points on his behalf.

she was really happy about that! too bad most of the time i drive to/from the track with my track wheels on. elyse is a dental hygienist... anything not clean drives her nuts. especially little rubber pieces in the driveway!
