I did that last week when I got caught an hour from home. Took me 4 and half hours to drive home. Hazzards on the entire way at 15 mph. Never again.

Ha!...even with snow tires, with that much snow, the M3 doesn't like it.

M3 with Blizzaks = lots of fun to drive in the snow (see my avatar).

And, seriously, the "only car that doesn't care about the snow" is a Suburban?! I know plenty of cars that would do a much, much better job than a Suburban in the snow.

I'm sure that was the first thing that popped in his head seeing his car in that situation.

But those conditions are what lead me to the S4. Awd is a beautiful thing in the Midwest.

Snow-snow tires + Lip = Snowplow!

Yes, you need to get a winter beater. Oh, and that white stuff on the road when everything drys out... it's not snow, and it's all up in your car waiting to 'worm' it's way out someday!

I lived one winter in Chicago with my E46 M3. Brand new, but had snow tires. Everyone else at work drove winter beaters and thought I was a strange for using such a nice car in the winter.

I can think of a dozen vehicles right now (not necessarily SUVs) that are way more effective in heavy snow than a 4WD Suburban.

i only own suburban and an M3 the M3 has snows (dunlop winter sport m3) and it makes the car drivable. the suburban has been in storms in vermont with no trouble getting through anything . if there are other cars that can do that then great.
