How often to strip wax?

How often should be using a wax stripper product like CG's Clean Slate in terms of number of wax applications? I live in AZ and my car is outside all the time, so I'm in the habit of waxing every three-four months for protection. After how many waxings should I use this?

Thanks!

No point unless you are looking to polish or correct the paint.

Bingo.

I'd suggest moving to something more resilient like a sealant that will be able to take the intense AZ sun and last longer. You can also layer those up for more durability.

As Larry from AMMO NYC would say. You want to build layers of protection. Wax is a layer of protection.

Thanks to all for the advice and counsel. I use a spray sealant/detailer after every wash and the shine is holding up very well. I wax every 3-4 months more for the therapy than because the shine is dulling. Occasionally, I have washed my car because it was actually dirty.

Most of those spray-on waxes and quick detail products don't last very long. They're intended for touch-ups. As I said, look at moving to sealants and similar longer-lasting products so you are spending less time waxing and more time driving.

If you're already familiar with Chem Guys, I've gotten decent results with their Jet Seal. Easy to apply. It's been a few months on my wife's black Q5 and the water still beads really nicely.

You can also check out Pan the Organizer on YouTube for some unbiased sealant reviews.

So here's the big question re: Jet Seal, although I'm pretty sure I know the answer: did you wax before Jet Seal, after Jet Seal, or not at all?

I’ve had a great results as well with chemical guys jet seal. Also paste waxes seems to last longer then spray or liquid form. If you’re not doing clay, correction and polish, I would use a sealant and then top it off with good paste wax

My understanding is that you can layer a wax on top of a sealant. I don't believe you can reverse this because a sealant won't adhere to a wax. I could be wrong.

So >> use a strip wash shampoo like Clean Slate >> Clay (only if it needs it) and polish if you're able to >> then a sealant like Jet Seal >> then wax if you want to go the extra mile

Loving the new Sonax Spray and Seal. Already went through a bottle. Water beading is insane. Very easy to apply. Highly recommended.
With all the new things out, waxing is dead imo.
