Hello Everyone,
I have been a member since 2012, i had a dct 2011 e92 m3 before, sold it and moved on but lately i missed it a lot and got one again. Now, e92 m3 prices went up dramatically here in Turkey, because there are not so many cars around and also most of them are not well taken care of. Most them has too many km's etc. I wanted to try something different this time and got a 2008 e92 m3 with a manual transmission, so this is my first initial impressions. E92 still feels really comfortable for daily drive, before this i had a f90 m5, that felt way more stiff than this. Currently i have a 458 italia and a new g63 but this car is so weird, i just can't stop driving it. I really missed this car and i am really happy with it. Still learning to drive this with the manual transmission, i am not gonna say dct was better or worse, they are just different, i feel like dct was working better with this engine but manual has a special vibe to it. Now, my plan is to drive this car everyday and keep a low profile, as stock as possible, but with today's power outputs e92 is slow and i will be putting a ESS G1sc kit in a few days, other than that it will be stock outside and inside. Car has 63.000 km's on the clock its a 2008 with a manual, it was alpine white, i wrapped it to look more modern frozen silver look. I don't plan on changing the wheels, the car had front carbon splitters and rear carbon wing, next day of the purchase i removed them for the ultimate oem look and will be putting the oem rear spoiler when i find one. I got 15f/12r spacers with the new michelin ps4s tires although spacers are not installed at the moment. Illuminated m5 knob will be installed. I also removed all the window tint. Oem exhaust will be installed as well. Here are some pics before and after my purchase, please share your thoughts. Again, i am really happy to join the community. |

I really wonder what the legacy of this car will be. I feel like the forum is pretty active and I see a lot of pays of people buying the car again after previously selling it or people even buying a second e9X. I think rod bearings and the size and weight turned a lot of people away but now as new cars are bigger and heavier and all turbo charged people are giving it a second look. Electric cars seem to be the future and people want a V8 before they can't get one.
The e9X m3 came out at a unique time where you could go low tech no nav no sensors etc or you could go high tech. Do it kind of appeases the buyers who want old school low tech and the buyers who want a car that feels modern. I also noticed in a lot of YouTube M car comparisons people are putting the e9X on top. |

So, today we went out for a test drive.
Fit and finish is excellent, it's incredibly silent, you can only hear it when the hood is open, %99 of people cannot know its supercharged which i love. There is an issue, under partial throttle car drives same as stock but under full throttle there seems to be a problem, ignition cuts all the time, its like a constant misfire. No fault code. We will change the spark plugs and coils tomorrow. Hopefully, it will work. |
