255/275 or 245/285 on 18”

Looking to get a set of AS3+ on OEM 219’s. Since the stock size of 245/265 is not available what are others running 255/275/40-18 I assume. Anyone running 245/40 and 285/35-18 on 219 rims? Tire rack shows minimum wheel width at 9.5” for the 285.

275/40 maybe a bit too tall for the rear imho - as in loss of torque due to increased wheel diameter. Look up slicer on this forum. He's pretty knowledgeable about tire fits

I'm specifically talking about 18's. You are referring to 19, and a 275/40-19 is too tall. I did have 18" in the subject, and referred to the 219 wheel.

I was referring to 18". 275/40 is a tall tire . When I was shopping/calling around for recommendations recently across various vendors ( tire rack, EAS, IND, discount tires) the most common combos that got recommended were either 255/275/35 or 265/285/35 on 18" rims . I have the latter combo on 18" Volks ( Te37SL) and so far so good. Front seems a bit tight but no rubbing yet. Car is in limp mode for unrelated reasons, so I haven't been able to put it thru it's paces. When we installed n checked , didn't notice any rubbing at full lock or during turning . Hope this helps. There's a few long threads that should help OR there's slicer !!
