Hello,
First of all congrats... Great time...
Can you pls tell me the 100-200km/h for your car, as I just (10 days ago) got me an E92 M3 DCT and was doing some vbox runs (I have a very large database from my own testing on my last cars the past few years - best time 100-200 is 5.4sec in my 700HP Protomotive 996tt and same in my APR tuned 997tt believe it or not) to see what this car can do, but I only did 2-3 runs from 100-200km/h and the best was 8.8 but with 3.5% decline while the others were consistent at 9.5-9.6sec but at 2% incline...
Car is completely stock full weight/full tank beisdes a Supersprint front and mid section with HFC and Hamman catback.
Waiting for the tune these next days to compliment my exhaust as I just installed the exhaust last night and went for testing...

That is great man
So once I get my tune I will go for some more testing... Great numbers indeed if you consider that my manual 997tt when it was bone stock it ran 8.2-8.3 100-200km/h...

I have also done some Vbox runs for 100-200 km/h with my E92 M3 w/DCT.
The fastest time I did was 9,3 sec w/ 2 people in the car.

The mods I have Akrapovic EVO and Evotech tune. Also my Performance seats save about 30 kg of the Car. That's it. With one person and better tires (ie Michelin Pilot Super Sports) it is possible to break 9 sec.

My friend who also has an E92 M3 w/DCT did 8,9 sec on the same road (only driver in the car, no passanger). His mods are performance egzost, Akra mid-pipes, BMC filter and Evotech tune.

Nice runs!

I definitely want to hear more about your cams and tuning. Maybe you can share some dynos or gains in power.

If I went to the trouble to get new cams and have to get that re-tuned, which is a ton of work as demonstrated by the 6 months of work, I would have gotten a few more lightweight parts such as pistons etc and get the redline pushed up to 9k and tuned properly. Would have been a true race car.

What kind of hp with just the cams/tune? how is idle?

cams gave me an additional 25whp

it was a bit of a problem tuning them cos there is nothing available and no one sharing any experience on how to do it

my car revs to 8800 and peak power is @ 8800.

if it was not risky i would increase the rev limiter to abt 9100 cos it would still make power there but i have seen 1st hand about 3 m3 engines breaking at 9100.

stock my car made 345whp and at the moment is making 425whp

i have tested the car against a c63 that has pulleys, headers, full exhaust, custom tune and it was lightened. this 63 ran a 11.6 1/4 mile. At 250km rolling from 2nd gear i was about a fender in front

the cams are not as straight forward as the e46 m3.

my friend who installed it had to do the timing twice cos it kept on going out.

then he found something out that is not even in the BMW TIS that he had to do to keep the cam timing 100%......thats his secret now.

the idle is a bit rough only on start up but after that its not bad at all. you hear a bit of the lumpy idle but i think its sounds mean

the next event here will be on the 27/11/2011 so will go and see what will be the quartermile time. i am expecting arnd the 11.6 to 11.7

Wow, those results are much better than I expected!! I'd love to do cams in the very far future one day.

Do you have any dynos showing those gains?
What spec cams did you get?
Who did your tuning?
Any plans to bore or stroke?

It seems like you are making a little more power than some of the stroker motors out there which is very impressive!

Yes I will post the dyno results later this week
just have to go to the shop and print them.

What spec cams did you get?

shcrick 292s

Who did your tuning?

myself and friend tuned the car...i went through about 3 different tuners and everyone was just speculating and trying so we got someone to write the files as per my friends instructions.

Any plans to bore or stroke?

next step for the car should be to bolt on an ess kit with the cams

It seems like you are making a little more power than some of the stroker motors out there which is very impressive!
thank you

camera is in the m3 vs fully modded c63

this is a video where i ran a manual v8 m3 rolling 1st gear till 190km/h very short run

this video is my m3 vs another v8 manual m3 with software decat and intake
there was some dust on the road and i lost traction so had to tap off and chase. which you will see wasnt hard at all.

Thanks for the further details!! I am definitely looking forward to your dynos since I plan to stay NA with my build.

The runs with the mod'd C63 are actually very impressive. Those C63s are absolute monsters! To be able to hang with them and start pulling is pretty great!
