DCT - slightly jerky clutches ?

Hi,

Since I have the car I feel slightly jerky clutch behavior while maneuvering or by soft acceleration from a dead stop. Is this normal with the M3 DCT in D(2) mode ?

Thanks,
Eugen

i think there is a software upgrade for it. i know the Dinan Software smooths it out in addition to the increase in rev limiter and little power bump

i even had this in my 6sp man and when i added the Dinan Software it was gone, car ran much better off the bottom much smoother from take off

I believe it is normal. During slow maneuvering DCT is jerky. Noticeably jerkier than an automatic. This is probably the reason it will be applied only to M cars and other distinctively sportier BMWs (135i, 335is, Z4). The rest will get the 8 speed AT which is much much smoother based on my test drive of a F10 550i. Software can probably smooth out the clutch operation at slow speeds but I don't think there is anything you can do to make it 100% AT smooth.

Mine is a bit jerky too during low speed (on/off throttle). Normal I guess.

It's normal in DCT, I believe ECU remapping would make the power more linear and smoothing the transmission.
