Thanks for the suggestion! I'll call down there on Monday too and find out what the deal is with parking. Then we'll discuss all of the options on Saturday morning.

For those that are coming to HRE Open House, we will be raffling off a set of HRE Wheels

That's right! You could win a set of HRE Wheels!

I will brief everyone on this the morning of. I would just hate to get to Stone Brewery and not be able to park all the cars together and risk ruining the end of the event (due to the huge interest now in the rally future events we will try to reserve parking at the destination).

On the other hand, Iron Fist may be a great option because there is a very large parking lot at the end of the culdesac where all the cars could be together. Also, the food truck will be there and its outdoors so people could order food and hang out and talk outside with their rides, or go inside and enjoy a nice cold brew. Also, the brewery inside is family friendly so underage M enthusiasts and their guests are welcome

Regarding KStrauss, I tried calling them today however they seem to only be open Mon-Fri. Im going to check with them on Monday to see what their story is. It does seem like they have a large lot though because it connects with a shopping center. All good problems to have
Giggs, let me know. There actually 4-6 big micro breweries in San Diego. 2 of them are near HRE's office.

Green Flash, Iron Fist, Lost Abbeys, Stone, Ballast Point, Mother Earth.

They all in San Diego. Almost all of them are less crowded then Stone even then Stone is the most well know.

We will also have Thai 1 On and Bitchin Burgers at HRE Open House for food options.

Speaking of wheels...

I just finished detailing (by hand took 2 hours to do 8 wheels) them.

I have a question, do we have to go to a brewery?

Nope. We can go anywhere with a big parking lot and a place to sit and eat, preferably a restaraunt since a lot of our significant others are coming. Breweries were a good choice because they normally have food and a cool atmoshpere. Also, we would prefer to be close to HRE so people can go there after conveniently. Do you have anything in mind? Just didnt expect such an awesome turnout.

I don't know the area, but I pull up Google Maps and take a look.

I'm keeping an eye on this thread to hopefully meet up with you all. I'm new to the area so it would be great to meet some M-car enthusiasts! I live near HRE so I definitely want to visit their open house. I may try and meet with you at the lunch spot ultimately chosen.

The places we've come up with are all around the Carlsbad area. There's nothing wrong with the places we currently have but I would think driving a little bit more down to the San Diego area would be more of a "joy ride". Haha, just a suggestion.

Phil's BBQ is next to the Sports Arena which is a HUGE parking lot. Just that area is pretty far south of HRE but keeping in mind that HRE visit is not the main focus. Phil's BBQ is legit. I just checked there are no events at the arena so the lot is ours. I learned how to ride a motorcycle there LOL.

Sounds awesome to me! I'll call them tomorrow too.

What about this though? http://www.kobeyswap.com/ Is this going on next Saturday in that lot?

Now that one looks like EASY access.

How big is the parking lot?

Parking lot is pretty decent size, and usually not many people on weekends.

Alternatively, Five Guys Burgers is good, and the parking lot is also fairly large.

Thanks,

I do them totally by hand.

The only problem is, it's tough to get your hand through those small openings.
