Would like to hear M Perf exhaust- near Ann Arbor/Metro Detroit/ Toledo
Hi there...new E92 Melbourne Red owner here. I'm looking at exhausts and strongly considering the M Performance system. We have had an M Perf system on two other N52 cars and absolutely love them! But, before spending over $2k on the M3 system, I would really like to hear it in person.
We live just outside Ann Arbor, MI and I'm wondering if there is anyone in the AA/Detroit Metro or even Toledo area that has just the M Perf mufflers on and would be willing to take me for a ride? I understand these are unique times and we are cautious about COVID. Facemasks and any precautions would be taken. I will come to your area. Cheers, Jon

I’m in Dayton, but could meet you further up north like Troy or Sydney. It’s a V1 MPE on a 13 E92 M3.

I’m in the area, but I have test pipes on top. Not sure if you’re looking only for MPE, but had it by itself for a while. Sounds very clean and exotic at higher revs, but sound levels are not much more than stock. You may want to soon after get additional power and raw sound, which I recommend you modify cats.

I am over in Royal Oak and have MPE v1. It developed cracks (very common issue with v1) but got them welded up last summer. The car is now out of storage. I have it on with a Bimmerworld X-pipe. Sounds pretty good. Looking to sell the MPE soon as I now have a Corsa that I will be installing soon.
Let me know if you want to check it out. |

Not exactly what you're looking for, but I'm just north of AA and have fully stock exhaust, cats still in, but have the "2.5 pipe" mod done to the muffler section. IMO sounds better than many aftermarket mufflers. Cold start has a deep tone, partial throttle is quiet enough to get around the neighborhood, and WOT above 3-4k it's screaming like an S65 should, but not raspy or drone-y.
It's a simple mod, but if you don't want to do your own, you can always buy a stock muffler to swap in and out. Last edited by rlig; 04-01-2021 at 09:28 PM.. |
