I fail to see what the fuss is about with the S5 interior. It just looks like a modern version of this car's interior (and it's from a 1990s Citroen Xantia and it's not the nicest place to sit)

Very interesting CSL. I agree, from what I can see. Do you have a larger pic?
Excellent thought.

You make a good point.
However, I have never fussed much over interiors, German ones anyway. As long as there are not huge wacky looking guages and strange patterns then I dont care much. Jason

maybe this would be helpful to be placed @ "STICKY"
maybe it's there already, I'm just not checking.

The second reason I dont agree is that while both examples, the S5 and the Xantia have driver-centric dashes, there's hardly else in common except where the steering wheel, gearbox etc are. Which I might add that most cars have in the same position You pointed out that the Xantia isnt a nice place to sit. It's a good point because many people express that the S5 *is* a good place to be. The range of materials of their usual high standard. Also, the S5 has it's MMI system which makes it different again. The S5 also has unique seats which look great! there's also dials and air-con controls etc that look great compared to the Xantia. Apart from that, maybe I'm the only one, but I can see that the S5 looks a LOT better than the Xantia here's another angle:

from a non-bias perspective...i think audi has better designed interior and feel...again it is subjective but just my opinion
however overall I am still BMW...and the aluminum looks SOO HOT with black interior...nice and tasteful contrast.

I agree. But there will be people who disagree. The fact is that there is such a balance and good mix of opinion. Personally, I think the S5 above is the perfect combo. I have a thing for red/black/white, therefore red/black/aluminium appeals to me more

I wasn't saying the S5 didn't look to be made from great materials and I personally love the seats, but I'm hearing a lot about the 'great design' inside the Audi when essentially, it was done 15 years ago in a family saloon car.

But that's what I just pointed out. It wasnt done 15 years ago. It is much different. Yes, it might be driver-centric, but that's all. The rest of the design is unique as I pointed out by mentioning the MMI screen & controls, air-con, dials, seats etc.

For me, there's such a "WOW" factor with the S5 interior. When I look at the M3 interior, i feel that it's too business like. My reaction is always " just another 3-series"
And the only thing the Xantia and the S5 have in common is the squarish frame around the center stack. There's so much more to the interior than that. If you don't like the S5 interior, then I respect your opinion. But you can't say that it was done 15 years ago, when it only shares that one square piece in common. Thats how I feel too. That's why I say there is a good mix of opinion. I must say though, I have seen more people liking it than hating it...

Yep, it's better - Audi does interiors beautifully. BTW, am I alone in thinking the rs4's / R8's 4.2L V8 also looks better (top view) than the M3?
