SELLING ON CARSANDBIDS 06/16/23 Sadly letting go of my 2008 E93 M3.

Clean Title VIN WBSWL93518PL89921

Bought in 2017 for $27k private party in San Diego. Engine busted after around 8k miles later around 75k odometer and replaced with a refurbished engine by Jobe Auto Parts.

Full description in pictures and YouTube video of the engine replacement from EuroTech Motors in Culver City. Replaced the clutch, flywheel, motor mounts, spark plugs, and one injector when replacing the engine. Subsequently changed front and rear OEM brakes and rotors and added the aluminum undercarriage in 2018. Thermometer and one ignition coil in 2019. Regular oil changes and only driven once or twice a month since early 2019. Car runs perfect. All in I've spent about $50k on the car. Happy to send videos on request. Odometer currently reads 81k. Replacement engine has about 90k miles.

Sorry but how does a new engine add value to the car? Looks like a regular 2008 e93 with miles on it. Doesn't matter if engine was replaced or not. This should fetch about $18k-23k depending on spec and proper pictures. Your listing doesn't show anything about the car (pictures of different angles of the car, mileage, condition of wear items, etc) but your price is $15k higher than others. Just some constructive criticism

Sadly this car has depreciated a lot from the price you purchased at in 2017 and what you spent on it doesn't really add any value.

Thanks for the CC. I'll add some more pictures over the weekend after I get it cleaned up. More than anything, I was trying to gauge the value and any interest. I guess the only benefit of the refurbished engine is that it runs amazing and is a bit more reassuring than a car that hasn't been properly maintained or had those repairs. If I can't get a price I'm happy with, I plan to just keep it forever.

Honestly, a lot of potential will view this exactly the opposite way. People would rather have a matching engine that they know was maintained - a refurbished engine even if it has had the bearings done still means that all of the connection points have been worked on since it left the factory, and you have no guarantee of how the original motor was treated before it was installed. At best, you command a lower premium than what a stock and well maintained car with bearings would - which is probably in the low to mid $22-24k range.

If that kind of number shocks you then I'd say keep it forever. But I would look at Cargurus or Auto trader to get a sense of market values.

Notes well taken and that number doesn't shock me at all but I'm leaning towards keeping it. Thanks.

it's not a rebuilt motor but a refurbished motor? Just clarifying. Also did rod bearings ever get done?

Not sure what the difference is between rebuilt or refurbished but if you click the eBay listing it shows the motor that was put in. The motor had its bearings done.

Had to replace the engine after it died on me about 3 months after owning it. Hard pill to swallow but I had years of fun with it after so I'm not going to complain. I left it stock on purpose.

Engine was $8k shipped. It had the following work recently done: 86565 miles BE bearings ARP, valve cover gaskets, oil filter housing gasket, oil pan gasket, one of the throttle actuator, replaced gears in second actuator.

Install was $7k but also replaced: new clutch, flywheel, motor mounts, spark plugs, one injector

Then various replacements and regular maintenance:
Oil change
Brake pads and rotors
Shift knob and boot
Under carriage purchase and install
Oil change
Thermometer
Ignition coil
brake Fluid, oil change, new battery
