Installed some ohlins
I’ll be honest, I’m disappointed with the quality control but overall they ride crazy nice and I’ll be happy for awhile. Plus… my fitment is much better

I should've expected that since he didn't want to mention it in the forum post.. with that said.. i guess if you didn't know full stiff was closed i can see confusion (new to coilovers). I'm not sure how you are counting more than 20 clicks of adjustment or where that logic came in that you count from 12.. lol cause when you put it at 0 you can't turn the adjuster anymore... when i adjusted my bosses Ohlins, I just put it to 0 and turned the knob counter-clockwise to soften it till I reached my desired number front and rear.

It'll click 30-something times but they say that only the first 20 down from full stiff do anything.

https://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1730403 It's a $30 fix for the rear shock spacer issue. Just get non-edc mounts. Trying to re-use EDC mounts is the only thing physically different on an EDC car, with cars this old, you should be replacing them anyways and the ones available are stiffer than the stock foam pieces.

Yeah, all Ohlins do this. This is why they recommend adjusting from full stiff (fully closed) cause it stops at 0.

Yup, if you remove the adjusters, you'll notice they infinity click with nothing attached.

The click, just looks like a pin that goes over the external indents of the knob. When you go full open, It can still keep spinning so the knob just keeps clicking over the already stopped knob. When you fully close, you are closing a jar, so it will stop when its fully tightened. Makes perfect sense to me.

The adjustment knob basically fits on top of an hex head grub screw inside the suspension shaft. Without the knob, you can actually use a small hex wrench to adjust damping by turning the grub screw (1 full turn = approx. 6 clicks). However, you can keep turning until the grub screw is completely removed from the shaft. So the adjuster knob actually prevents the grub screw from coming all the way out.

I did a full counting sweep from both ends noticed it was over 20clicks before it infinitely spun. That quickly told me full stiff and counting down was the way to go since it was an actual reference point you could count on.
