I have 2 of these for the two cars I store in the winter.

https://www.amazon.com/Battery-Tende...a-434255813726

Its been going well for several years without problems. My E93 is still on the original battery that is now 7 years old.

My z06 has 1 that was built into the system since the battery is located in the back. I was looking at a few on Amazon 20-40 bucks, but wasn't sure if that was the best option. If this is the wrong forum I apologize!
I had a 12 year old OEM BMW battery in the M3 up until June. I decided to get a new one to protect the electronics. I have no idea if it could have lasted any longer, but pulled the trigger for safety's sake. I had and continue to use a CTEK. The car was always plugged in when it wasn't used.

I didn't want to start a new thread unnecessarily, so I figure I would continue with this one.

Since the thread is about a year old, is CTEK chargers still the way to go for the M3's, or are there better options that you would choose...? I would like to pic something up before the winter season comes. I work from home and and I usually use my truck as the daily driver in the winter and bad weather.

Want to get your thoughts... Thanks..!!

Yup, just to finish a previous rant. Funny how BMW has this intelligent battery system that is supposed to prolong battery life but I've never had any of mine make it over 4 years. But my non IBS cars I can get 6-7 years out of the battery.

Yes some do last long.

Get the CTEK MXS 5.0 for the US market. It's the only one out of the lineup that has a legitimate temperature sensor and adjusts voltage accordingly. Very important for AGM batteries
FYI i've tried most of every one of their other models prior to this one

CTEK - 40-206 MXS 5.0 Fully Automatic 4.3 amp Battery Charger and Maintainer 12V https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00CD44RQO...UTF8&psc=1

Sure is, Swedish stuff so can't go wrong...

Ps. And yes, Believe both BMW and Porsche among others are rebranding CTEK so pretty well verified from various ends.
