Help identifying this muffler
Got a new to me e92 M3 recently and couldn't be more stoked!
Came with a Gintani quad res x pipe (score!) and what looks to be a custom muffler. I've researched a ton and can't find what the this thing is. No branding on it either. It's loud, and rasps hard at a few different rpm ranges (~2100 and ~4000) Other than that is sounds awesome. Tips look good too. Does anyone know what this is? Thought I'd throw a pic of the new ride in as well |

Thanks guys...Definitely has me stumped too. I'll try and post sound clips, but its hard where I live bc I'd piss off people a 1/2 mile away haha
Either I'm getting high flow cats for the Gintani and keeping the muffler. Will HFC's reduce sound and more importantly rasp? Or I'll pair it up to a more quiet axel back and keep the x pipe as is. Would just the OEM exhaust sound ok? Don't hate me for this, but I love how AMG's sound, so that's ideally what I'd like to go for. Any suggestions appreciated. Thank you! |

I think I've searched every exhaust term out there on google that would make sense. Nothing on google images come close. The tips fit perfectly in the stock position which makes it interesting. Maybe custom?
This is definitely a race style muffler. It sounds pretty damn good when its not raspy as hell at certain RPM (not a fan of rasp). Do you guys think if I add Gintani HFC's it would quiet it down and reduce rasp? |
