Lease buyout

As a former E92 M3 owner I'm hoping you all could provide some assistance since this board is more active than the E70 X5 board. My lease is up in a couple of weeks and I'd like to buy the car. I want to CPO it as well. What is a realistic expectation of discount off residual for a BMW off-lease? More importantly, is any discount possible? How about off the CPO fee? I've heard once or twice that BMW FS doesn't permit discounts off residual, but not sure if that's dealer BS. Apologies for not making it M3 specific, but any anecdotal references you can provide for your M3s or other BMWs would be helpful. Thank you!

Call around as it's up to the dealer if they want to give discount off the residual and CPO. BMW FS will not give any discounts. I plan on doing the same once I get closer to my lease end in October.

If you do a search, you'll find various topics about the discounts.

Thanks. Yes, I found the other posts on the subject but all were 1 yr + old. Since this kind of thing is very time dependent I was looking for some recent examples. But thank you for your data and intentions.

Why don't u let the dealership take the car back, then go back and try and buy it. You will get a lower price for sure. Also u should really consider an aftermarket warranty it costs less than CPO and has the same coverage. EasyCare, Carchex, and Zurich are all good options. Same or less deductible as CPO.
