Need Opinion on Pricing for this M3

First time poster here. I'm looking for advice on this car I've been considering purchasing. I know it is overpriced, but I am not sure to what extent. I know the experts here can chime in. Some notes, It does have some minor damage to the front carbon fiber lip, and has cust ac schnitzer exhausts. The drivers side seat has a area about half the length and most of the width of a dollar bill that has scratches, otherwise the interior is perfect. Tires look like they will need to be replaced in under 3000 miles (this is a guess).

Am I crazy to offer 38k for this?

Somewhere between $38-39k would be a nice deal on that car, considering the mileage & goodies.

Good luck!!!

Does anyone know if this car can get a bmw extended warranty with all the aftermarket parts? Mainly the steering wheel and the exhaust.

Also does anyone know if you can get the 2009 idrive flashed to stream music from my smartphone?

I would look at the mods to be undesirable from a negotiation standpoint. And the vast majority of buyers couldn't care less about the aftermarket stuff... matter of fact a lot of buyers would see the mods as a liability. I'd negotiate the price of this car at a lower point than a comparable bone-stock model with the same mileage and condition. $36K to $39K.

I, personally, would stay away from this car.
BMW of Encinitas had this car and let it go to auction. That tells you they thought it was going to be a hard sell. And it may very will be because of the mods on it. The mods convey the impression the car has been driven hard. At least that's the impression I get and the reason for my position on it.
Are they the original tires? I've got 18,000 on my originals and, I think, a lot more left than 3k.

I'd say about $38-39 would be an OK price

Wow this dealer is dreaming or at least hoping some twenty something kid shows up with dad's cash to buy this thing. As someone else pointed out bmw Encinitas had this for a month and let it go. If you can't sell an M3 in so cal where can you sell it? I'd agree mods depreciate the vehicle IMHO. It's hard to assume the car wasn't driven rather hard. If fact with low mileage on an 09 my guess is this car was tracked fairly regularly. If this is the car for you, Stick to your guns in the price, the dealer will come around. If not there are plenty of other options out there.

Do you think I'm in for a bunch of mechanical troubles? It seemed to drive fine when I took it out.

I'm pretty conservative when it comes to buying used cars. I like them stock and it needs to look like it was driven by a little old man. I don't bother with modded cars, particularly quasi race cars, because to me they represent a mechanical risk.
You might want to go back to the BMW dealer and see if you can have him pull a maintenance history on the car or even do a PDI.

Still have my PZero's on my 2011. The car has rarely seen 90 and I'm mostly around 70. Little old man type driving (along with an active CHP) saves on rubber.

Just spoke with the bmw dealer I had it sent to. He said that the only problems that came back are the tires are completely worn out and that the suspension is out of alignment. It has race suspension on it and apparently doesn't have camber adjustment so it needs to go to a special shop to get new tires. He also tried to sell me on the idea of purchasing a fidelity aftermarket warranty. Does anyone have experience with this? I'm thinking this car is more trouble than it is worth, but if everything else is in working order how hard can you drive an engine in 20k miles. I'm sure it was tracked but I doubt someone did 20k miles at track. Maybe I am sorely mistaken.

o wow haha, I drive my car very.. spiritedly. None of this weaving in and out crap but I take every exit and on ramp as if I'm on a race track lol. You should open her up every once in a while, she won't bite

I'm confused, what are you inferring? It's an m3 man, it's supposed to be a fun car to drive.

I too am on my originals. Just passed 17,100 yesterday. Fronts still look good and rears will go a few thousand more I hope.

It's a 6 speed and I have tons of fun and satisfaction just driving the car. I'm more cautious than most; but, I'll get daring every now and then.
