▀▄ eas | Ceramic ThermalCoated Akrapovic Evolution/SlipOn Systems for M3 - First Look

For those who know quality - Akrapovic instantly comes to comes to mind. As your preferred Akrapovic dealer, we would like to release studio shots of a new option from eas - Frozen Black ThermalCoat Edition.

Typically used for heat reduction, ThermalCoating has come a long way in recent years. ThermalCoating can reduce surface temperatures by as much as 54% in some cases, while also being aesthetically pleasing to the eye.

Akrapovic Systems are delivered to eas in which the systems and accompanying hardware are prepped and ThermalCoated Frozen Black, immediately giving an aggressive appearance to match the already recognizable Akrapovic exhaust note. Paying attention to detail, the Akrapovic logos are laser-etched back into position for an OEM factory-like appearance.

eas now offers complete Akrapovic system in Frozen Black ThermalCoat - ready for installation.

Those that were at our Dyno Day in June received an early sneak-peek of these system. For those that weren't, here are some recent studio pics.

Black Satin ThermalCoated Tips w/ Laser Etched Akrapovic logos:

Tip Selection - ThermalCoat vs Carbon Fibre:

For those daring to be different, this is the system for you.

Installed pics on 2011 Mineral White M3 Coupe:

Here's some quick shots from yesterday's (turning into last night's) installation on a 2011 Mineral White M3 Coupe:

We're very pleased with the outcome, what do you guys think?

lol guys. For people that actually track the car this is great. Not only does it protect the CV boots on the diff but also keeps the tranny much cooler as the exhaust runs right along side the tranny. If you look at pics of used Akra systems (purple/blueing) you will see it is most blue where the headers connect right by the transmission. So your diff, tranny etc all stay much cooler for when your pushing WOT on the track.

I love it and think it's worthwhile as I myself used inferno heat wrap on my Akra GT4 system from the headers to x pipe and used those clamp on heat shields for the CV boots. If I had a local vendor I trusted with something like this I would have loved to go ahead with it.

So instead, you trap the heat inside your $6k exhaust?

If you look at the BMW motorsports GT4 e92 car they have wrapped the exact same places that I have with the exact same exhaust....

So your telling me they don't know what they are doing???

Also if you would be so kind, what exactly is the problem with trapping the heat in the exhaust??

Don't get me wrong, I have heat shields on my Akrapovic as well. However, the heat shields I use are a thermal barrier against radiant heat, and, due to the airflow, won't trap much in the exhaust.

Not saying you'd see this here, but I've had corrosion problems with various thermal coatings in the past, although Swaintech tends to be very good, JetHot and a few others have failed on me or caused the metal underneath to corrode. (I have never coated titanium, though)

The transmission doesn't get much radiant heat from the exhaust, when the car is moving. And, let's be real here, there are very few readers on their board that actually get their exhausts hot enough for it to matter. For 99.99% of us, this is purely aesthetic. Even those tracking their cars.
