I love mine. Very thankful for the group buy. The upgraded lense with intense cutoff is worth it alone.

customer service, quality, delivery
I bought a set of headlight (and taillights) from them 2 years ago..

customer service - they don't sound like a huge shop and the headlight build process is pretty involved.. I think "Jeff" is the main guy there, he's very friendly and nice when you can get a hold of him but you don't always get an answer. I hate bothering people but at purchase time he said 4-6 weeks to build my headlights.

1. Three months later (12 weeks) my headlights shipped.. It took a while to get Jeff to answer during this period but I felt he was genuine. He said new headlight stock took forever to get shipped from Europe. If you order new headlights they don't come from BMW but some 3rd party in czech republic. To me no big deal..like ordering TRW parts vs BMW

2. Jeff felt bad that my order was so delayed so he threw in free blacked out LED cornering bulbs.. which were like $60 each or something back then

3. When they finally shipped (via slowest ground shipping method ever) they got some orders messed up and my lights went to some guy in Virgina while I got his lights for an F8x.. I was asked to print and re-label my box and drop it off at Fedex.. I guess the other guy shipped it back to BayOptiks and they shipped it out again...so more wait..

4. When it finally arrived, driver side headlight was damaged in shipping (!) Comparing the two headlights it looked like one of the light rings wasn't secured properly with a drilled wire when it was built. contacted Jeff.. he answered quickly, I sent the light back and they fixed it and sent it back out again.. they paid for shipping.

5. This time the light arrived "fixed" and operated properly. However, after the 1st touchless car wash, passenger side leaked and water fried the adaptive module. I replaced the module and tried to reseal it myself but it fried again after taking the car through the touchless car wash again. Two years later the headlights work fine but i have to hand wash the car.. and the passenger side fogs up under heavy condensation (both my stock ones did too however)..mind you it rains a lot here in the northeast and the car survives heavy rain storms fine (its my daily driver) but that touchless car wash kills the adaptive module instantly..

So am I happy? not 100% satisfied in the beginning but after two years of ownership I can't live without them...I love the OE plug and play.. it's so cleanly done. The craftsmanship is high, you would think the headlights were OE. One of my buddies super experienced with e9x lighting tells me he can seal the headlight for me 100% .. I might take him up on his offer this summer and try the touchless test again

Geez, what an ordeal.
Cosmetic looks is one thing...I also expect the reliability and quality equivalent to OE's.
Never once had headlight issues in 7 Bimmers [>20yrs] with AE design over the years.

Appreciate you sharing

I wonder if they've evolved their process to seal them better in order to withstand touchless car washes.

I wash my own car, but still.

I live in an area that has extreme winters and extreme summers. I've actually had a lot of sealing problems with my e92 headlights..In my 2009 and my 2013, 3 out of the 4 stock lights developed seal problems over time and condensation issues..

Here's my build spec from BayOptiks:

Quad Dual Row Vision 6K Rings
Dual Carbon Fiber Switchback LED Eyebrows
Quad Honeycomb ZKW-R Lenses
Quad RGB Demon Eyes
Dual LCI Beauty Piece with Clear LED Corner Bulbs
Satin Blackout Paint

BayOptiks Sequential LED Tails

Jeff told me they test the seal and operation on each one for a couple of days before it's shipped.. The driver side seal has been perfectly fine. Perhaps they rushed my passenger side because it had been back and forth so many times.

EDIT: I just re-read my post.. I meant passenger side.. it was the passenger side that had all the issues, the driver side was fine in shipping and is still fine (no condensation yet)

Exclamation Torcher ending soon?!?

I'm hearing from a trusted source, I may be in receipt of new BO headlights next weekish or so!

Being a 'pessimistic optimist'... measured excitement, along with hope the damn things arrive w/o damage, and no quality issues [i.e. condensation, leaks, et all].

Been a long haul, c'aint say enough bout SilverSlug and his support for you know what!

Looking forward to install and realization of the pricey, long awaited mod...more soon!

BTW - Anyone selected/installed a CarPlay mod recently?
Know there's several Threads on the topic, jus curious of this groups experience, recommendations.

The one problem I had with mine (got the error message but never saw any condensation) was after spending a lot of time around the headlights drying the car with an air blower. I’ve since taken it easier with the blower and no further issues (yet).
