I hate FRZ's/BRS's. Nothing special about it when the Miata has been doing it for years.

Garage List
-Aftermarket wheels (I get the need to run square or save weight, I just think all three OEM options look way better than any aftermarket wheel combo)

-iDrive. The second hump just looks like it was stuck there because the designers gave up on ways to make it flow with the rest of the car.

-Blackline Taillights. Never been a fan and I don't think they improve the look of the 08 rear end. But, I think smoked lights in general look cheap.

-Aftermarket rear spoilers. Why? The extra downforce isn't significant.

-The chrome window trim on E93x. Why not just make it match every other model?

People keep confusing this for the "things I hate thread" rather than the "unpopular opinion thread." Must be a tough concept to grasp.

Tow hook license plates. I really don't see the point of these unless you are removing them for car shows or something. I think the front plate looks worse if its off center.
If you must have a front plate just bite the bullet and drill the bumper.

The carbon fiber roof on anything but white looks bad. Even if you track the car, you won't notice the weight reduction. It doesn't offer enough contrast on a darker colored car, so the panel just looks mismatched and unfinished. Finally, a sunroof serves an actual purpose and I use mine all the time.

There. That feels better.
uh yes you totally do. My sedan has a carbon panel sunroof delete. Made gobs of difference.

M3's are not sports cars, they are just fast luxury cars.

1x1 carbon fiber parts that match the carbon fiber roof.

I love the 1x1 carbon fiber roof, but think the 2x2 carbon fiber mirror caps and splitters look better than 1x1 even though they don't match.

The reality is that our cars are making close to peak torque starting at 3500 rpms. Unless you are shifting at 4k rpms or you shift VERY slowly, there's now way you're actually out of the meat of the torque curve if you reach for the next gear (in the manual) at say 5500 rpms or higher.

To be clear, I'm not saying that the DCT is poorly matched to the car or even a bad choice for those who prefer it, but I am saying that because of the broad torque range of the S65, both transmissions work good with the car. Clearly the DCT is the option you want if you want the absolute quickest form of the car because of the gear change speed--no argument there. And I will say that I'm jealous of the additional gear in the DCT. I would love if the manual had a 7th gear for overdrive/highway cruising/mileage purposes.
I'm a manual boost junky and crossed to the NA dark side. Just a view but the best part of owning my dct e90 m3 is the engine note with a non standard x pipe setup font from an upshot but a 3rd to 2nd quick blip. Just got a gts dct tune and for the tiny cost, what a noticeable diffetene in gear changes. You must be a fn gun driver if you can get anywhere near that engine note blip in the manual. All I can say is it is just as addictive as a boost hit and drives my family nuts when there in the car.

It's not that hard with throttle in sport plus mode. A sharp stab of the throttle will get you the same engine note blip going from 3rd to 2nd. I do it all the time.

Makes me smile when people say that the dct is so great just because of these downshifts, like it's something unique

The happiness is justified. Pretending it's a unique characteristic of the DCT is not.

when I’m on this forum I feel so tempted by all the snarkiness to jump in and join the trolling. Not just this thread but the forum overall

Here's another one.

I'm very much over flat gray colors like telesto, they are getting as played out as matte black did when it people started doing it.

I like the sounds that S65 makes more than the exhaust noises.

ITB's are a really under discussed part of this car's character.

I also won't be doing RB pro-actively. It doesn't make sense looking at the big picture statistics. Even if the failure rate is 2-3% spending 2500 probably isn't worth it outside of peace of mind...
