"Favourites" buttons and folding mirrors question.
Guys,
I've got an 08 E90 M3 with iDrive. Having trawled the owners manual and M3 supplementary booklet, I have still failed to work out if what I believe are favourites / shortcut buttons under the air con unit are indeed favourites / shortcut buttons? If so, how do you set them? If not, what are they? Also, is there a way of changing the setting so that the electric folding mirrors automatically fold up when I lock the car? Would appreciate any advice. Cheers.

Yes they are fav buttons. Go to the option you want to save and just hold one of the buttons down.
Auto folding mirrors can be programmed.

....love these buttons, you did notice that once you have programmed whatever you need (for instance I have short phone numbers, stereo EQ, and of course M menu...), you can see what the specific button function before you push, simply by touching it with the fingers. It is really quite nice.
Regarding the folder mirror, I'm (like the rest..) using BMWhat here. Went for folding thrue the key fob but each to his own. Brilliant app, must have. Good luck! |

Thanks folks, really helpful. Have now got shortcuts for phone numbers, audio and navigation.
Can you tell me some more about BMWhat please? What kinds of things can you programme with the app? How does it communicate with the car's onboard system? Cheers.

I use a BT adapter (went for BMWhats one as they definitely work, abot $25 isch). All sorts of light/lock/window/dashboard etc coding possible. I use only 3-4.
Scannes failure codes, all, i.e. more than the other apps for sure. And obviously clear codes too. Since recently reads engine parameter where you can pick from a number of parameter and create a real time dash board and I believe as well a log file. Didn't play around much with this yet. The app is $50, no brainer, just get it bro. Cheers |
