I am averaging around 14.7l/100lm in the city running although I must say my car is now a weekend driver.
But then again it is down to the mood whether you want to be aggressive or just fuel saving mode. 75% of the time it is aggressive. M mode is not engaged in the city running. Pointless wreacking the suspensions over pot holes. Might as well save it for a track day.
Hoping to take delivery of our X3 3.0d next week. Arrived at Fremantle on Tuesday. Now that's a frugal car with a lot of torque and 190km in power. I am not sure which one I want to take to the German Car Day on the 24th of July.

I remember when I had my exhaust and tune done that my fuel consumption actually dropped by nearly 2L/100km. Couldn't believe it. They said that it was because the the ECU was tuned for 98 fuel when the standard ECU isn't, so can use less fuel to do a better job! Not that I got the tune done to save fuel, was just a bonus.

Just wondering if you guys mind reviving this thread? I have the Gas Cubby app on my iphone and can tell you that the fuel consumption indicator on the dash is usually quite wrong. After 3 months I am averaging 17.5L/100km, the indicator says 16.7.

Between 11.00 and 12.5 L/100. Mixed driving. Using BP 98. Used to ping before the ESS tune. The tune made no real difference to fuel consumption.
On the subject of fuel... a handy link ....http://carsguide.mobi/web/client/car...trol/index.jsp.

351km last tank, that's my worst so far. Dial sitting on 17.2L/100k

SPQR, I think the dial is only a rolling average of the last 50km or so

I'm not going off the dial, I'm going by the raw numbers I enter into the Gas Cubby app every time I fill up.

I never drive in D mode and usually cruise at 60 km/h in 5th - maybe this is why I'm getting such bad numbers? I should be cruising in 6th or 7th.

Hey Chris, that's what I'm getting and its always in D3 or M and it gets the cobwebs blown out on a regular basis. Strange because my set-up is exactly what you have, but we don't have that much traffic on the Goldie.. are you running yours on Southwark Premium

To those that bought their cars new, did your fuel consumption improve after you put a few more KMs on the clock? I've been getting around 200kms from 3/4 of a tank here...Although I guess I'm either stuck in a bumper-to-bumper jam, or driving quite hard...the Akra evo I just put on isn't helping either haha

I'll bet your flogging the bag out of it to make that exhaust sing so there goes your MPG Have you done a tune yet.... if you do you will notice the car becomes a bit more responsive and more linear through the range
I got mine at 5K and the fuel consumption has never really changed that much and is pretty much what they estimate on the brochure

Haha yeah you're meant to wait until you hit 5k on the clock before you start flogging it but that will take me over 6 months since everything is so close to each other here.

I haven't got a tune yet, but it's next on the list. Although I must say, the power increase from the akra is quite noticeable from 2.5k rpm onwards! It's a much better exhaust than the Eisenmann for sure

You can do the tune yourself, ESS do a kit where you have a dedicated programmer supplied, you will notice the power becomes more linear and those dead spots disappear. You can also get rid of the cold start which is no longer needed with the high flow cats. Hope you are enjoying the Frozen colour, is it hard to look after?

I saw the ESS kit, something I'll be doing in the near future! I've got under drive pulleys and a MS air filter waiting to go in too!

Yeah I love the Frozen colour! It's very easy to maintain and you don't get swirl marks on it...I have the car washed regularly, every day or two, the hand car washes here are $8SGD (at the one I go to), they do a really good job, they get in between and behind the spokes and dry the car properly...that's about $6 AUD btw haha
