FTM question

For those without TPMS (Canada at least) I'm curious if the FTM system (measuring rotational diameter) would be sensitive enough to detect pressure changes in very low profile tires (i.e. 255/30/R20) before its too late (i.e. rims riding on the ground).

I've had alerts with a pressure difference of about 3lbs on one tyre...visibly undetectable.
