originally 800 got it lowered to 650. plus 1500 and 600=2900 or potentially 5400 in all to fix this issue.......... idk if i should pay 2900 minus whatever they willing to take off in labor cost tomorrow and hope that fixes my issue. Or risk it and possibly pay close to 3000 and my car is still not fixed. I cant afford 5400 total. I would have to go back for that main ecu if thats the case and i bet it will be. or just bum around and keep clearing it but what if in the future i have other issues with the car and shops needs this issue to be fix to diagnose my car. dam

I really don't see the relation between the Dynamic Stability Control module and your original issue. Doesn't make sense. If I were in your situation, I would yank my car away from them and find a reputable indy that specializes in BMW. As to your other question, yes, a knowledgeable coder can code a used module to work with your car, and it doesn't cost near $600 to do it. I hate to say it, but I smell a rat with the diagnosis by the dealer.

I cant upload it to youtube. Im gona call a independent shop and find out if there able to program and how much. Idk if BMW is telling the truth about saying only they can program ecus. I cant even find the dsc control module online to see how much it goes for

The module is under the abs pump. I really question how changing it and having it recoded would do you any good for your situation though.

I kno i dont get that part as well. But they keep saying there 100 percent sure its a failing. If it something that has to be replaced because its not working than i dont mind replacing just dont know if its something a independent shop can fix with a used part. Dam its a tough spot to be in. Gona make some calls soon

So i spoke to mike from Euromeccania, spent 30 mins on the phone speaking of the issue. He said if they got bmw north american involved at this point its better to finish the job with them because if there saying they need that dcs to program it to find out if its the main ecu issue than theres a chance there telling the truth. To find out if thats what the bmw north america tech said as opposed to a tech from there. He would have to do everything from scratch. Labor cost comes out to 600 and if he uses a used part and if it dosent code or work thats on me. I guess my ass is going through the dealership smh

Nope I don't get plausibility
And no, my car doesn't go into limp mode or anything. Been driving fine for over 6 months. No changes in fuel consumption or anything. No rough idle, nothing.

Debating between driving it and keep clearing when the code comes back and paying for a black market inspection or just biting the bullet and paying close to 3k and potentially telling me they need another 2.5k for another computer. Ahhh

so after the car been sitting at the dealership from dec 15 i got the car back yesterday after 2 and half months. i had the manager and head froeman explain to me how they follow a process electronically first and it led to the dcs needing replaced which they did. the car has no electrical issues but they havent started looking at the mechanical side of things and need to take apart the engine to check for loose or unpluged hoses. they did a smoke test and the car showing that the engine getting too much air which is causing the error, i told them after 3k i cant spend no more money with them because they cant guarnteed when it will be fix. they keep saying its like a onion with many layers. going to look for a good independent mechaninc in nyc area and go from there. as for now felt good getting my m3 back until 35 mins later when the code returned. going to look for inspection options as well for now.

I'm also interested. Got a P0111 on my '06 325xi- I know, not a M3, but this thread popped up when I searched the code. Tried new filter, cleaning MAF sensor (as I understand the IAT is part of MAF sensor), thinking of getting a new MAF and checking the wires next. Btw, thats brutal how BMW did OP so dirty and didn't even solve the issue in the end. That's something he should be able to take them to court for, if the justice system was just. |
