Dropped off my car at racewerkz the other day to do the electric power steering pump conversion. Figured I'd do the lightweight radiator fan as well.

Will update you guys with parts used and weight saved (cough cough roastbeef )

Tell me more about the lightweight radiator fan. First I've heard of it.

I asked Casey to weigh the stock vs the new one. I'll also get the make/model for you guys.

He said he thinks the stock fan is 14lbs and the new one is 4lbs, so I'll verify and update

What trackpads do you guys recommend? I currently have pfc08 on stock brakes but just purchased ST60 fronts. I haven't decided if I want to keep running the pfc08 or change it up.

Cobalt friction xr1/xr3. Great combo.

Currently running SR34 front and Pagid RS-19 or PFC-08 rear (Slight pref for RS-19 but use what you have first). If I bought another front set I'd probably go Ferodo DS1.11. Depends on your tires though, I'm on r-comps, for street tires I'd want less friction, something around PFC-08 levels. For slicks I'd want Ferodo DS UNO or PFC11/01 up front at least.

I've tried Pagid RS-14 blacks (w r-comps) also and I think there's better stuff out there now, though RS-14's are priced well.

I don't have plans to go beyond street tires at the moment.

How are the PFC08 compared to the DS1.11?

DS1.11 is pricey and I don't think you need that much pad for a street tire. I'm trying to recall what lower friction options there are for the ST-60 pad shape. I might consider Pagid RSL29 (what has now replaced RS-19's), Stoptech SR32's (haven't tried these myself but assume lower friction than SR34), or even Ferrodo DS2500's — some have tried these and may comment.

PFC08's would be great also but not sure if they are sold in the ST-60 pad shape.

I run the XR3 front and rear as I found the XR1/XR2 combo was too touchy driving to and from the track. The XR3's are amazing at the track.

Throwing this out there just in case. AoA is relative to airflow and not difference from parallel with ground. While it looks up pretty high on those mounts, which is great, it is likely still getting the air downward following the roof line and could actually be close to stalling.

Not sure how to interpret this exactly. Can you elaborate?

PFC11 or Cobalt Friction XR2. XR1 is too aggressive right now. Call Clark at Apex Performance for best prices on PFC11 - around $480. Cobalt Friction will retail for $459, but Andie Lin may offer 10% off. Pagid RS29s are more endurance oriented and you can find them for $430 at Apex Performance. I've found the Pagids to be finicky if your switch back and forth with street pads.

08 and 11 are popular. I haven't used them so I can't comment.

I keep coming back to Hawk DTC-70/60. Pretty cheap and very consistent pedal feel. Tire Rack was clearing them out at 25% off recently -- I grabbed like 3 sets of fronts and 2 rears, lol.

Your selection should be based on a number of factors, which would include the weight of the car, the tire, the rotor temps, caliper temps, driving style, etc. Get some temp paint and stickers and see how hot things are getting.

Same exact situation here, normally ran PFC 08s on stock calipers all around. I ordered PFC 83 (very 'experienced' compound) for the ST60 which is $220. PFC 08 is $409 and PFC 11 is $580. At those prices, it's a no-brainer.

PFC 83 - https://www.bimmerworld.com/PFC-83-R...0-Caliper.html

I talked to someone from BW over the site and was told these should pretty much work fine with either the rear 08 or 11 compound with stock calipers. There's only one person I've found that used the 83 compound and no complaints (so far) - https://www.m3post.com/forums/showpo...84&postcount=6

Let me know how it goes! My ST60 kit isn't build yet so I still have time.

I won't be installing mine until late April or early May so it'll be a while still for me. Perhaps jacksonE92 can provide more details from his experience with the 83 pad.
