Yeah, I'm always nervous about target fixation. Guy behind you sees you spin, can't stop watching, and is suddenly driving right at you. Seen it before, especially when people go off the track.

Agreed with you on target fixation and that may have contributed to the multi car incident we had this weekend.

You can see the river running down at the end of thunder valley. Hitting that with slicks at speed gets interesting

Flushed brake fluid for the first time with my motive bleeder. Experimented on mrs beef's diesel. Super easy! Did a dry bleed.

When did you get yours? My replacement Motive bleeder can't even hold pressure for a dry test.

What brake fluid was in there? The Volvo fluid that came out of my wife's brakes looked nice and yellow.

Sweet, I haven't even unboxed mine yet. Hope it doesn't break.

I also got a sweatband for my power steering reservoir, but I got a headband instead of a wristband doh.

Fcp euro, I believe. I used some oem equivalent fluid for the commuter.

Nope. Mid Ohio is just slick.

Too bad you didn't stay to the end of the day Sunday. There were only 3 or 4 of us on track for the last 90 minutes!

Made it out for the first event of the season at Road America. Was able to improve my time some down to a 2:28.07. Just shy of the 27's (prior was 28.94). Made it more heart breaking for me is the Aim showed 2:27.xx before I crossed the line then change to the other time as soon as I crossed.

Was out with another friend in an E92 M3 who managed a 2:26.1!! that is flying for those who do not know the times there. He let me in front for a lap to try and push me into the 27's but I started to overdrive the car some and didn't make it. With some new tires next time I should be in the 27's. Aim Solo has my theoretical best as a 2:25.xx so I have some room to close the gap of my actual time vs the dangling carrot.

I'd had enough of the slip and slide in Thundervalley. Headed up again tomorrow, hopefully we luck out with the weather.

Damn, that is a fast time, especially for a track like RA that favors high horsepower for the big straights (main straight, Moraine, and Kettle Bottoms). I have only driven there once, and even in my [stock] Corvette GS, could only do a 2:36. You're definitely braver than I am through the kink...

Is your car SC? It sounds like it and the Vmax on those straights seems to support that.

Shawn and the guys at Laps Inc are awesome, probably the best HPDE group I've ever run with.

When calculating TBL make sure to disable first and last lap of each session. It's rare that your TBL will be more than a second from your actual best.

Neither of us are supercharged, but my solid subframe bushings and diff bushings transfer that noise. Does sound like a super charger in videos though. Both running almost the same mods. Exhaust, Intake, tune, suspension, solid sub frame bushings, and bbk. I obviously have aero. He is mid 3,700lbs with him in the car. I am closer to 3,800lbs or more with me in it. Plus I am DCT vs his manual. When I bought my car it put down 390whp on a dynojet.

Yea it took me a long time to warm up to the kink. Always plays with my head. Last year was about 107 through there and this time close to 110.

To be fair he is also a very talented driver. Former NASA GTS-4 national champion.

Yea was my first event with Shawn and I enjoyed it. Very easy going event and nice cars.

I'd highly recommend buying the season pass when he has it on sale on Black Friday. Great price and you get a guest pass.

The Wednesday ADD were pretty sweet, you just get 3 hours of open lapping on a Wednesday afternoon. No run groups.

That sounds like something I might consider next year. I prefer the week day track days too since it does not take away too much from family or other things that seem to fill up the weekends so fast.

For those of you needing new tires, Discount Tire is doing their 10% off deal for Memorial Day. It's stackable with other rebates. I think I got about $200 back last year.

I thought I'd share this good deal. I just pulled the trigger on 4 Toyo Proxes RRs size 285/30/18 for $1015 at Simpletire.com.

I've been meaning to try these for years. I'll report back.
