Arma Speed Carbon Fiber Intake
I came across this intake on instagram () and was immediately interested... I couldnt find anything on the forums about it but would love to hear if anyone has any experience with this intake. I've been looking for a CSL equivalent carbon intake that gives that great induction growl and while its not the entire manifold, according to @jamespaick_m3 the induction sound is significantly louder.
Heres a link to the intake: https://www.armaspeedusa.com/collect...ant=6397171524 Another link that if you scroll down to 'M series' theres a dyno graph with some gains reported: http://www.armaspeed.com/carbon-fibe...takes-for-bmw/ Any thoughts? |

I'm working with Karbonius on a full CF airbox and elbow for the E9X M3.
Karbonius is made in Europe and is highly reputed in the E46M world. Right now I have the Dinan CF elbow and just with that the sound difference is noticeable. I can't imagine what it'll sound like with the whole airbox made from that!! |

it's great that the elbow connecting to the plenum is widened but it's missing the inlet that air is drawn from where the front grills are.
not to mention that the filter looks incredibly small compared to the OEM design one. |

There are immediate power gains apparently though? Maybe on the road, with proper air flow, OEM gets more power?

The variable intake thing was something that could be found on eBay 10 years ago where people used a K&N cone filter and flipper valve that attached to most Honda Cold Air Intakes. I'm pretty sure this intake would not gain as much power as other intakes like MS or Dinan. |

I have this intake. I actually bought mine from James. the intake sounds amazing, has a nice deep growl at low RPM's, and nice wholesome sound at high rpm's.
I did notice a little more giddup and go at low RPM's |
