I think I know why my numbers are low. It's because of my iPE muffler. Just like the guys a few years back who were supercharged and had an iPE set up. Their dyno numbers were lower than the expected norm. So by default, anyone with a valve-tronic muffler set up will have lower HP numbers. So I can only assume I am higher with a normal set up.

Unless that muffler was costing a lot power when asked to flow 500 rwhp worth of exhaust gas, it probably isn’t costing any power when asked to flow 350 rwhp worth of exhaust gas energy.

Tuning language is a foreign language to me but that’s what I came up with.

For the hell of it, I may just dyno again before I move to my next duty station.

I intend to contribute to science! I recently bought bone stock 09 e92 with 142000kms(88000 miles). Im hoping for a baseline Sunday, will share results. I have just taken delivery of an Akrapovic midpipe with test pipes (Thanks Gazorpazorpfield!!!). Will try and get a run once they are on, then ANOTHER dyno run with alex's tune.

BTW, did you ever think maybe that Frankenstein of a x pipe you have could be an issue. Something could be choking this car up besides the IPE mufflers.

When you did the stage 1 tune and dyno, the secondary cats and resonators were deleted? That might be the reason, you are only seeing a 7hp gain when you added the test pipes during stage 2.

Yes
Thinking about it, I guess the expectation was 30hp gain from the tune plus another 30hp from test pipe delete. So the mindset should be tune and test pipes will yield 30hp plus from stock car baseline

Dave
Resonators and 2ndary cats have been replaced by straight pipes
