Finally back in another M3...

After 1.5 years of selling my 2011 M3 coupe, I've finally pulled the trigger on a 2011 e93 Gray/Bamboo! I've missed hanging around this forum and I'm glad to return. When I ordered my 2011 e92 back in 2010 I hated the 2 month wait...and now it's only a 1 day wait while it arrives via transporter and I'm anxious.

I'll post pics tomorrow when it arrives, and to say the truth I'd never thought I'd buy a e93 but I'm actually excited to drop the top and hear the beautiful tone I've been missing.

You mean you're back in another 3-series. The E90 and E93 don't count as real M3s around here. At least with the E90 you can do the engine bay mod, the E93 is a lost cause.

Thanks! I know the e93 weighs more but I've grown to like it. And unlike that other poster, I think all models have their own beauty and purpose.

If you can't recognize a tongue-in-cheek comment for what it is, you're gonna have a rough time of it around here.

I had a 2011 white M3 vert. lease ended. I wanted a 13 vert ILB and guess what, my wife called and borthered at least 10 dealers and its in my garage. If you are not tracking, Have no worries about the weight smash the pedal drop the top and you will be in a whole new world. Even when I go on a drive on the twisties top down its amazing, up shift double downshift upshift, you get the point. My only problem is breaking her in all over again. I hit yellow on tach twice and was like oh shit. I drive her a little hard during break in but I try not to go over 5500 up or down shifting. Good luck on your new ride and welcome back.

Congrats on your new M3 convertible. I had a 2011 E93 M3 before I bought my new E92 M3. What I liked best about the E93 was no wheel-spin, I could just floor it. With the E92 I'm trying to figure out how wide a tire I can put on my 19 inch CSL rims because, right now, my standard launch is spin the tires until the DCT prematurely shifts to second gear.

Thanks for that, looking forward to it! I will post pics once I get it, btw it is DCT.

Beautiful car buddy, you wouldn't happen to have the windscreen...would you?

On my e92 I had it on 305 in the rear, and the spin was non existent, but it also depends on the tire itself. I never used launch control either..

Thank you! Here's another shot.

Did the 305 rears clear the stock sheet metal?

I was actually lowered on RD sport springs and it cleared fine. Although I do not recall the tire brand I had, they were on my 20" HRE P40's. I love your previous e93, looks like carbonblack metallic.

Lol at the E90 and E93 not being a true M3! I doubt even 15% of owners track their M3.

Congrats Op. I actually always thought if I ever go back I would get an E93 just cus it does look so good with the top down.

LoL at the second post!! What a tool bag. # of doors and having a top vs topless is a personal option. They are all the same cars with the same engines....

Wow, this thread is bringing out all the stupid.

And for the record, the E90 was disqualified because they omitted the M3 logo on the engine, hence the "engine bay mod" suggestion. Also, it was a joke, since you both are too clueless to grasp the meaning of the huge grinning emoticon and have apparently never read a thread on this board ever. Get your heads out of your asses.
