headlight question

i have a 2010 e92 m3. I had to get a new rightside headlight due to a fender bender. The adaptive light is not centered in the ring see pics. also since the headlight was replaced both inner lights do not light up when i turn the steering wheel. can anyone tell me what the issue is.

The Adaptive servo linkage (ball joint) inside the headlight is either popped loose, broken or skipped threads. It will need to be opened up and fixed. Hopefully it's not broken, BMW doesn't sell all of the internal parts separately.

Thanks but the headlight is brand new so I can return it.

The projector can be adjusted horizontally via the outer adjustment knob (can't be seen from engine bay unfortunately).

Do you have your headlight switch set to auto?

Does that knob rotate the light or does it move the whole light itself horizontally?

The knob adjusts the projector internally but it doesn’t have a significant range of travel. If you’re going to try to return it you better get on it before it’s no longer new or they blame you for breaking it.

Bumping this old thread - do you recall what you did to adjust it?
