Bluetooth option for those with CCC

I thought I'd just post this here because it's a nuisance I had with not being able to stream music over bluetooth.

I've tried a few different options but this has been the best so far. It's just a simple USB and Aux bluetooth device, but the nice thing about this one is that it doesn't have a battery so it turns on when the car is on and my phone connects automatically on ignition.

A lot of similar devices have a power button with a battery so if you forget to turn it off it stays connected once inside the house.

Check out Tune2Air, you can change the track with the car controls with that device

I thought that Tune2Air required the AUX/USB with iPhone connection?

My car only has aux

Ah I guess I misread, but you don't need an Iphone to use it. Just any device that streams music through bluetooth.

I think he's referring to the requirement you have the iPod/iPhone option for your HU to make it work.

I had a similar device for my E46 M3, the device plugged into the cigarette lighter socket for power, and streamed Bluetooth audio through the AUX jack.

Was perfect in the E46 because the lighter socket was right below the HU, so the play/next/previous buttons and microphone were within reach.

Correct, that's what I meant. It won't work with just an aux port, it requires the USB/AUX combo

So, if you just plug this into the USB/AUX combo ports, you can listen to music via the Bluetooth connection?

The fact that it can let you change tracks through the car's controls instead of fiddling with the phone is a big safety plus. I have not seen any other devices that lets you do that. It gets power from the usb and plays through the aux port. Not the best quality, but sounds to be good enough while listening from Tidal Hifi. Maybe something like an aux amplifier might help.
I got an email from Bavsound that they are about to release a new amp and teased an upcoming module for it for bluetooth streaming. The fact you are streaming directly to the amp sounds like it will give the best quality streaming (the quality of the source is still important) but the ability to change tracks like Tune2air remains to be seen.
