As a fellow N52 and S65 owner, I have to tell you that's a great combo! Probably the best $:value ratio of any pairing of a fun/reliable/low-maintenance daily drivers car, and a truly special engaging sports car experience. I can't think of much else that checks every single box for both purposes (daily driver vs. fun car)
I really didn't know what else to get, I always went back to another E90 when looking for a daily.
I did not want a N20 and the only thing that came to mind was a 328. Wish I could of gotten a E91, but they are all automatic or have to much mileage....

I agree they are reliable and the n52 as plenty of torque for a daily. Good tones from the engine; it as the bmw performance muffler.
Oh and from now on, I will see some coffee drip on the passenger knees from the awesome cup holders even during winter

This last week was quite a saga installing my RW Carbon performance rear spoiler. So I get the spoiler delivered and I'm all giddy to install it. I remove the standard spoiler per usual methods but the adhesive is EXTRA stuck on the trunk, like way more than I've experienced before. Frankly I can't get it all up with massive amounts of elbow grease, potent solvents, tools, you name it. I get the thick stuff up but there is still a layer...

Well I guess I'll install anyway! Double sided high strength Scotch tape/goo, tape it down solid for a few hours and yay it looks great! Leave car outside in sun and subsequently overnight outside. Next day, double check before heading to work and I think it loosened from the cool night. It's not falling off, I can press it down, but it ain't good. I drive to work praying it won't fly off and I make it there then home. On the way home I pick up BMW Betalink from the dealer and re-install with the real deal. Betalink is DOPE. I can't believe I even bothered with double sided tape. My spoiler is now rock solid, the install was easier IMO, and the look is perfection.

A detail, tint, and sunset later...

Not that it matters now since you used betalink but you were supposed to tape it down with painters tape overnight and a clay bar would’ve helped get the old tape off. Just for future reference, looks great tho

I’m sure he prepped the area adequately.

Judd, what brand and type of double sided tape did you use? 3m makes an automotive specific tape that comes in different thicknesses and widths. I’ve been using it for years on several applications and never doubted my installs. There’s also a method to the installation to ensure you’re getting full coverage contact

He just said he didn’t get all of the tape off and left a layer of it on there

Yeah I don't think anyone or anything could have gotten that layer off. It was like trying to rub a layer off a tire. I think my car saw a lot of sun time in the southeast so maybe that baked it on more. I did try clay bar and blunt hard rubber. I even used the betalink solvent that came with the kit and only minimally improved it. The tape was Scotch heavy duty, and adhered to the spoiler like a mofo but not the car due to surface. Took me half an hour to get it off the spoiler. Anyway the betalink was great and it's a flawless install now. It was a learning process I suppose.

Got around to installing my new radiator, the project was way easier than I expected. The Koyo Radiator fit perfect, gonna test out its cooling abilities on Sunday at autocross.

And it kind of sucks that you can't even see it once installed

You get a good bit more intake noise but my exhaust isn't exactly quiet so its hard to hear it. Plus I have no back seat which makes everything even louder inside the car.

Thanks for that. Is it the same quality of intake noise, just louder?

For what it's worth.....I had the same stubborn factory tape layer when I did mine and was able to get it all off with Eastwood's "PRE" Paint prep, soaking it then scraping it off with the black plastic scraper that came with the betalink kit.
