Not exactly. The thing wears like a dream to be honest. And it's one of the most HighTechMech watches available...but... I just like the Submariner design a little better.

And to have three rather expensive watches is a bit like a 'how do I explain this to my wife' thing...

Cheers

wow some really nice watches in here... can anyone recommend me some nice watches under $500? I've seen a few nice tissots for a decent price before. Im looking for something more dressier or casual but that can be worn with nice clothes (so not too casual i guess).
Thanks!

Plain and simple...I wear it as my everyday watch.

I have a whole bunch of Panerai (i think up to 6 of them now) and 2 Patek's willed to me. Also a Lumtek and Chopard. Those are 15 years in my future though (not that i want my dad to die soon, but the watches are really nice...) oh and a rolex explorer II which i'm pretty sure i'll sell right away as i have no interest in Rolex. No offence to rolex lovers, there are just too many replicas out there for half the price.

The one i'm lusting over right now, but i can't justify the price is the Devon belt watch.

Has anyone heard how well the devon belt watches hold value? this is a main consideration in my justification of purchasing it.

Currently all my watches are pretty low end flashy ones, a bunch of diesel for jokes, but I have 1 movado, and a TW Steel Dario Franchitti 50mm i just picked up the other day.

did more research on the Devon belt watch, i'm not so sold on the price and technology. For the amount of money, and the price of computers these days, this thing should be a few hundred dollars, not several thousand, so never mind.

Not at all, it was a gift from one of my co-workers. He is a Native American healing teacher and he received it as a gift from one of his students from Chile. He passed the graciousness of the gift along to me knowing the appreciation for it would be accepted in the spirit intended. It is very special to me.

I've seen some Seiko bashing by some here, but I'd recommend a Seiko and picking up a leather strap (if it came w/ SS). That way you could swap to taste.

Anyone have experience or opinions on U-Boat? I heard they were designed or shared knowledge with someone from Panerai? (not 100% certain on the history) Either way, i find them very interesting and want to know more.

As for the hundred people in all these pages bitching about expensive watches being worn in a 3-series.... that's sad... I know someone with 2 Patek watches and he drives a Subaru STi around as a daily driver and his wife has a 6 year old Toyota Prius that she won't give up.

People have different priorities, and it isn't always about status, sometimes it's simply appreciation.

Well, I decided to order the watch I mentioned earlier and got it a few days ago. I thought it was going to be too big because the case is 48mm but it's not. I love it! Definitely happy with this watch. Hopefully it will last for me until I finish with school.
