  SSR Wheels is no stranger to the aftermarket wheel industry. They have been expanding their wheel line to cater to the distinct taste of euro market, mostly towards the BMW enthusiast. SSR then released the first aluminum racing 3 piece wheel, the MK1. Aluminum wheels were in high demand at the time, and led to start of JWL (Japan Light Alloy Wheel) Certification in 1973. JWL certification involves testing impact strength and endurance strength. SSR wheels are always put through JWL testing before they are used on the street or track. In 1981, a 3rd party statutory board the VIA (Vehicle Inspection Association) was created to verify JWL testing. Both the JWL and VIA logo are embossed into each and every SSR wheel representing dedication to quality control. SSR has always focused on manufacturing precise, lightweight, and strong wheels and will continue this tradition for years to come. Over the years, SSR's racing heritage has led them to many victories and championships including the 1979 Formula Nippon race that took 1st Place, and their BMW M1 race car in 1980. (source SSR Wheels) SSR WERFEN GT-03 SSR's rendition of the Original cult classic, GT3 Key Features (HTM) Heat treatment manufacture. After the wheels go through a spinning process during manufacturing they are heat treated for a second time. This application of heat increases the strength of the wheel. As a result the wheels are lighter and stronger making them ideal for hard tuned race cars and heavier vehicles. SSR 3 piece incorporates the latest technologies in the design and manufacturing of its lightweight 3 piece wheels. The three piece wheel is made up of an outer rim, inner rim, and center disc which allows SSR to offer wide range of offsets and ensures proper fitment specific to your vehicle. The inner rim of the wheel is heat treated for strength, using the HTM (Heat Treatment Manufacture) process which allows for the use of a thinner material to save weight. With weight and high strength in mind, each section of the wheel is engineered using separate grades and thickness of aluminum according to its purpose. SSR's racing heritage and manufacturing innovations have allowed the creation of a 3 piece wheel that is both super lightweight and high in strength.
