I was waiting for the first comment. I haven't touched the engine bay yet and it's on the list of to do's right after exterior. I usually do wheels first, then engine compartment, exterior and lastly the interior. But it was typical New England weather when I picked up the car and didn't get too long to get my Decon wash done.

Yes I'm really looking forward to seeing how it'll turn out. Haven't decided on product. Either Swissvax or Leatherique. I'll be posting.

Here's a shot of the current state after one pass with a microfiber cutting pad.

Nice work so far! I'll be following your progress. I have almost identical plans for my '08 Jerez E90.

Full paint correction + ceramic coating completed a couple weeks ago. Replaced the crumbling upper windshield trim, faded stripes on trunk M logo, new OEM floor mats, detailed the engine bay.

Next up is OEM steering wheel (current has some light peeling that drives me insane), shift knob (bubbles in domed shift pattern emblem) and wheels (minor curb rash from PO).

Trying to decide whether to stick true to stock and refinish or replace the 220's or go with 359's. I think silver 359s are the best looking wheel you can put on a Jerez M3, but I also like the idea of staying true to the cars original equipment.

Mice looking car man. My wheels have minimal corrosion on them and I'm also deciding on refinishing them. I love the 220M's on my car.

Have you priced a new OEM steering wheel yet? I think I'm going to try leatherique and see how it looks. I have no tears or rips just the faded M threading and a little shine to the leather.

I haven't done much research yet on pricing, however I'm thinking of upgrading to the M-Performance wheel:

This one from Vivid Racing also caught my eye, but I'm thinking it may be a little over the top, and I'd prefer to use aftermarket parts sparingly, if at all.

359's no question! The 220's are okay but it's 359 > 219m > 220s IMO

I don't like 220m's in pics but in person I like them.

To me, 359's only belong on a comp package. I guess coming from Honda's it's like rocking ITR wheels on a GSR.

100% agree the 220m's look far better in person than in photos.

I hear where you're coming from. Though I'd argue the mechanical/performance jump from GSR to ITR is far greater than the jump from e90 to e90 ZCP, which is really just a relatively minor suspension upgrade.

When I had my WRX, I'd scoff at subie owners who plastered STI trim pieces all over their base WRX's (or even worse, base Imprezas), but that's mostly because the STI was nearly an entirely different car.

At least with a GSR running ITR rims, it required a 5lug and brake upgrade to get it..

Honestly, 359 is the only noticeable visual difference (if not compared to a regular one for height) for ZCP which kinda sucks as rims are so easily changed nowadays.

But.. I get it. Purists

Finished the polishing today. We're still going to attack with a black pad in certain areas but damn! I'm impressed.

Today's Pickup

Happy New Year owners. I made my way to FCP to scoop up some parts to install on my day off tomorrow.

These LCI repair kits are a really cool way to freshen up the rear of your sedan. I have the notorious tail lower lamp out error code so I looked into replacement bulbs only to find out it's non serviceable. Not a bad choice way to spend $120 on a rejuve.

Now that the paint is corrected and ready to be coated I thought it was time to install new badging.

I have the same car but in a 6speed. I'd like to replace my LCI tails because the province it originated from came with numbers etched in it. Unfortunately its also on the windows and headlights too. I like your style. With the rejuve is there anything you can do aftermarket/mods?

Absolutely none. I've grown to be a purist. I was that was with Honda's lately and it's transitioned to the European market. I love it. I've been missing out my whole life. Although, previously I'd be messing with base model Honda's. And nobody loves a stock one of those. But now with niche cars, the manufacture has done all the work for you, why mess with that. Like I can't understand why people are taking for instance a ZCP car with EDC then throwing $600 coils on them. It baffles me.

Don't get me wrong, the exhaust note was the only thing I would like to increase but I'm not willing to mess with the car for it. The market on these cars is on the rise and soon, the low mile virgin cars in good shape will be worth the money and the modded cars will lay by the wayside. Same with every car that becomes a collectible.

My last 3 cars I've been lucky enough to own for a bit, refuvenate and enjoy, then get all my money back and some.

Luckily some of us are able to modify, and keep all OEM parts in storage in the event that the car is being sold. As for myself, i have NO plans to sell this car in the foreseeable future, and modding is one of my favorite hobbies. That being said i bought my e90 ZCP bone stock, and have kept every single OEM part stored.

i respect all the different ways we like to enjoy these vehicles... for me, that means rigorous maintenance, putting tons of miles on it, thrashing it at the track and eventually totaling it or selling it cheap ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.

M performance exhaust would be a great addition while feeling factory purist

I totally get it. This is why I didn't want to get a ZCP as I knew I would modify the suspension and rims. I truly value your purist view as that will be the timeless view of the car in the future.
