There are good cops out there afterall in Toronto!
Oh man - was caught speeding down the DVP towards the Bloor Street exit and a cop car basically followed me until Bloor Street. I hoped that he was just happening to be on his typical beat but deep down inside, I know I got tagged.
Anyways, I finally turn right and head east on Bloor Street and his sirens go off. "F*ck...." At this point, I'm thinking that on top of the speeding ticket, he's going to clip me for not having any front plates. I know I was tempting fate when I decided not to put front plates on but I was hoping not to get caught inside a week of leaving the dealership! Anyways, the cop walks over and said that he caught me speeding back on the DVP. I gave him some lame excuse of how I needed to take a massive dump which actually got his laughing/smiling. He requested the usual documents and walked back to his car. 5 mins later...he walks over and gives me back all my ID/registration/insurance and tells me that I should try to drive more carefully and that I've been given a warning. He actually also seemed concerned about my insurance and told me that he didn't want to ticket me b/c my insurance would go up! Needless to say, I was quite shocked! He does a walk-around my car and I know he must have seen that I had no front plates but he didn't mention anything... PHEW! Slap on the wrist...I'll take it! Anyways, thought I'd share that with you guys - definitely touched by an angel today! |

York Regional cops are probably the worst cops in North America. They still think that if you're car is modified, you're a street racer by default and they will make a point to give you a hard time.
My wife is a very careful driver that follows all the rules and gets pulled over when she drives my car. She has no trouble when she's driving her own... that tells you something about YRP!
